What's sad about this is there are so many delusional posts with "facts" on this site where the poster thinks it's the other people who are delusional.

it would be nice to see more things vetted for the actual truth instead of the half truth or the desired sound bite before they're posted but I don't think it's going to happen.

yeah, how do we even "vet" things? can't trust the government, can't trust "scientists" or "teachers" or even "doctors" anymore.

One way is to actually read the legislation. Another is to actually read the articles.

Also, stop watching, reading, listening to MSNBC, FOX, OAN, 98% of the political podcasters (shock jockeys) ...

Unbiased news where people actually have to form an opinion for themselves is boring and hard work. It's much easier and more fun to just repeat the shock bites.

Even the majority of the most reliable (truthful) and least biased sources are a little bit left because the left is more willing to let someone tell them what their opinion should be than think for themselves.

But it's interesting to see that that a majority of the least reliable sources are pandering to the right, mostly the extreme right.

You're not going over the handlebars.

Just goes to show that Harley riders really do seem to be some of the least practiced riders.
T bone a car and you will go over the handlebars. At least far enough to kiss the car you just T boned.
As for the video.
No where did I say that using the front brake would have put him over the bars. Keeping his head out of his ass and riding defensively and he would have stopped for the red light.
There's plenty of all types of bikes that I stay away from. Actually there's only a few people that I will ride with.

I have both and prefer not having abs.
And hydraulic clutches suck.
ABS is good in panic situations. Helps those who ride over their heads or when the car pulls out in front of you at the last second. I ride Ducati Super bikes and the front brakes are so good I can actually skid the front tire or apply it gradually and lift the rear wheel off the ground. I prefer non ABS but they can save you in a panic situation. Most of the time. :)

I know… old meme theme. But this pic was from a news headline today on housing starts or some shit… and it needed to be memed for posterity.

Because DEI buildings will probably not last as long as the meme…
This is BS! None of the engineers that I work with go to a job site in a suit. Not even those trained overseas. Hell, I’ve bounced them off the grade for improper footwear.
trousers, work boots and PPE or you are outa here!

Would you rather go over the handlebars and through the windshield or off the side?
Harley antilock brakes teach bad habits. Over 30 mph using either brake applies a 60/40 braking. Some people have never ridden a bike without antilock brakes and don't know what threshold braking is.

i still have my supersport but havent ridden it in about 7 years. when i rode it regularly with the mates, we went up a road we ride almost every weekend. with myself leading, i was coming out of a left hander about to flip into a right hander when out the corner of my eye i saw a wallaby coming out and cross right in front of me. i stood the bike up and applied the brakes pretty hard. i made contact, all the time thinking i was coming off. i considered myself lucky that all that happened (found out later) that it took out my front right blinker and made a 1in crack below my air intake. i checked all functions, even standing up on the pegs to look over my screen to see if the lights copped an impact. sat back down and went hell for leather. those that saw what happened slowed down. those that didnt thought they were fast overtaking those that slowed down. all this on a single lane road at night. i never went over the bars, and i doubt a harley rider sitting in a lounge chair would go over the bars if they learnt to use the front brakes. sometimes i think that some people should have stuck to pushbikes and never mounted a motorcycle. due to my work related injuries, i am still debating with myself whether to keep my bike or retire from riding altogether since i havent ridden properly or have seen a track in close to 7 years. i think old age has kicked in, and fuck no, i aint jumping on a bike covered in chrome ;)

It's easier to go OTB on bicycles. Less mass to lift behind the center of gravity

My era had a different problem. When I rotated into the 327, at Camp Eagle, I tossed my bag on top of the pile, witting on pallets in the Supply tent (S-4). When I DEROS'd It was at the bottom, a strap with my shipping tag on it. I pulled it and it came away, totally wet-rotted!, I pushed the whole mess over, and pulled my bag out, a sodden, black-molded mass of rotten cotton clothing and uniforms. It had been issued new when I left the States, due to shipping loss, so most of it I had never worn. The SGM wanted to make a statement of carges, and have me pay for a re-issue. The CO, whom I had puled from a bad firefight, and patched up, said, to give me an extra set of jungle fatigues, and let me go home and settle it there. Wrote it off as a "Combat Loss."
