Parallax adjustments

I'm not quite sure what you're asking here. The best way for me has been to look at your target through a certain magnification and move your head from side to side and watch your crosshair. If it's moving around with your head motion, adjust it either way until it doesn't move with your head. If your parallax is adjusted correctly, the crosshair should stay put no matter where your eye is positioned relative to the scope.

Parallax adjustment is used to align the reticle and the image so they are on the same plane.
The distance to the target not the power matters when you adjust the parallax.

It's what most of us call a groundhog or woodchuck. I was wondering the same thing and had to look it up.

Also if they spot you and go down their hole, a lot of times a really shrill/loud whistle. they will pop their head back out. I am going to use the term whistle-pig from now on. I like it.

But yes, distance is what will affect your parallax adjustment. Glad we could help sir.

If you live west of the Mississippi, a whistle pig is a decent-ish rye whiskey or a Marmot….which out here, most people don’t shoot.

I only knew a whistle pig as a semi-okay whiskey. That's why I was wondering why the OP was shooting such a thing. LOL
