If You say so . #6 months ago I was paying an average of $232.00 per 8 lb. of whatever I chose and some Good powders were as low as $ 216.00 per 8 lb. . Sales are relative to times of purchase ,such as back in 60's ,less than $2.00 a lb. H 870 ,4895 and BL-C which was delivered to MY house :) The Really Good old days of Mil surplus powders on the cheap . DuPont , IMR , Winchester/Olin and Hercules made the majority of smokeless powders for the US back then .

1. crap gets hard to come by for the next 3 months as people get back their tax returns and stock up on 'essentials'
2. I like to judge demand/rarity of things by the 'prices' / scalping / goes for on Gun Broker.

At this point luck has nothing to do with MY situation . I simply purchased some powder #'s I use a fair amount of and thus have ensured MY lifetime supply ,regardless of # or Manufacturer . I didn't spend #50 years stock piling to be denied when I retired .
I'm currently selling off 1.25 Tons of lead shot all New hard chilled #25 lb. bags . I'll still have enough left over to shoot #5 rounds of sporting clays every week for the remainder of My days ,as I can't shoot every week :)

I don't do hashtags period . Number is # symbol substitute exclusively for ME . I know I incorrectly space the symbol but due to old typing habits and speed don't really care ,it's not English Literature 101 on forums . Pacific Northwest and shipping being what it is ,probably best if I peddle locally at shooting ranges . Just saying price verses weight bargain is within driving distances .

H4895 has been pretty much unavailable since 2019, but in the last 6 months or so it's popped up in stock about 3 times in very limited quantities and it has sold out very quickly with quantity limits per customer per order.

Natchez, Mid South, drifters gear, grafs, powder valley, and Bruno's all have AR Comp in stock, but have your wallet ready because Alliant's pricing is currently the highest on the market... Natchez appears to have the best price right now at $420/8#, everyone else is about $465.

Bruno Shooter Supply : AR comp is an Alliant powder ,manufactured by Bofors Sweden ( all extruded ) and won't be inexpensive . As for Alliants ball powders , it's a toss up as to where they're coming from ?. Some may still be coming from ATK /Gen Dyn or RWS Rhino powder manufacturer . Either way it's gonna be COSTLY . Might want to seeks an alternative temporarily ?. :(

I just recently bought a pound of BLC2 so I could use it to load for the grendel but learned it's very temp sensitive. I paid $56ish for a pound. I wouldn't mind paying 6 more dollars to get a really good and not so temp sensitive powder. ARComp for the grendel is supposed to be the h4350 of the 6.5cm.

No it's not, it's total crap... and make sure you tell everyone that, so people stop buying it and it sits on the shelf.

Then once nobody is buying it and they drop the price, I can order another 48# of the stuff at a substantial discount over the currently insane alliant pricing.

In all seriousness I love AR Comp for light (40-55gr) bullets in .223 and also in a 22-250; great accuracy, low sd/es, extremely low temp sensitivity, and excellent speed. For heavies in 223 I found it worked OK but H4895 was much more accurate in the 4 223s I tested it in with multiple bullets. Varget was more accurate than AR Comp with the heavies as well, but down on velocity compared to both H4895 and AR Comp. I was hoping AR Comp was going to do well with the heavies so I could consolidate to only one powder for my 223s, especially since H4895 has been nearly impossible to get since late 2019 / early 2020.

Sure seems mighty funny that BLC-2 is so temp sensitive ,based on Military loading and subsequent use World Wide !?. Be what it may ,if you're not comfortable with it ,try VV powders they're World Class . #7 months back paid $ 216.00 8 lb. BLC-2 , and Four months back paid $232.00 for VV 8 lb. in various High energy #'s .
540 ,550, 555* ,560 , 568 . * 555 is the 6.5 CM cats meow . Just saying You can get BETTER powder for less $'s . Too many people get stuck on particular powders ,without really trying another brand . I used to be that person ,found one stuck with it ,then learned other powders did slightly better and I just had to adjust charge loads to accommodate change .

Target purpose powder selection for AR platform ,cycling grouping . Those were some of the 1 St. rounds out of MY New Build at 165 Yd.

I adjusted the BLC-2 charge and tweaked VV540 slightly and got excellent groupings as well as full function results . Granted those are 120's and I'm just waiting for all this frontal weather crap to pass us ,before doing additional weights and powders . Have everything loaded up and I honestly believe I may see single hole or nearly with those powders I mentioned . I can attest VV is far cleaner burning and dry patching after #20 rounds reveals little .

Funny or not that the military and everyone else is using blc2, I've still never reloaded before so I'm completely new at it. I want to find a powder as consistent as possible in different Temps because I don't want to be tweaking loads and I am more than certain a bit worried I may run into unsafe loads with loads pressuring up.

I certainly don't mind using any other brand. I don't know if I made it seem as if I only want to stick to a particular one. I've heard the VV powders are very good.

However, in the all the research I've done, ARComp and H4895 seem to be the most popular and least sensitive to Temps for the grendel. Most of the stuff I research suggests the same few powders all the time and it's never a VV powder. Likely because they may be older topics and there was no need to venture out to other brands back then.

If I can find a VV powder that's as good for the grendel as the tried and tested powders mentioned, I will surely check it out. If not, I'll roll with the pound of BLC2 I bought and see how it works out.

I appreciate any input or suggestions as I am still learning about this rabbit hole haha.

Don't know about 6.5 Grendel but VV powder does : I use a fair amount of N140 , N160 ,N540 ,N550 ,N560 and N565 in most of MY Rifle weapons and it's serving Me very very well indeed . So those powders I'm fairly familiar with .222 - .338 LM and near all calibers between them . Semi auto ,as well as Bolt guns . Powder is absolutely predictable between lots as consistency is their specialty . I toured the Norma Swedish factory and they're also anal retentive on Specifics of reloading . So I never even worry about switching to either powders . I use other powders because I have an abundance of them but for superb accuracy VV or Norma for Me . :)
