I have no words.

Cause 99 percent are pussies scared of their own shadow , and it’s drilled into them that everyone is going to kill them even though they aren’t in the top 10 most dangerous jobs

One guy paralyzed a state and had them shooting up elderly woman delivering newspapers.

Those “got to get it on “ types don’t realize good people practicing restraint is why they aren’t steam rolled

Someone can post the links to the ups driver and all the home owners that got smoked by the police after calling them. Justine damond etc x1000

Better get back to work so we can keep funding the settlements after they fuck up time and time again.

Gonna get worse since they are literally hiring illegals now

I've heard details that make the situation very confusing. During the chase, police reported taking gunfire from both driver and passenger side windows. I've also read that the woman was wearing "a ballistic helmet and tactical vest".

police are on googles top 10 most dangerous jobs. So…I dont what “top 10” you’re looking at.

It’s not really a fair statement, because while dudes are getting paid millions to play football, no form of police are getting paid enough to risk someone killing them…because believe it or not…criminals don’t just surrender Willy nilly.

You know why I don't work at McDonald's...? Because they don't pay enough for my time.

Hard for me to see the correlation between 'We shoot the wrong people cuz we don't get paid enough'... But that's just me. One way or another, cops are cops because they want to be cops. While I'll definitely agree that as a society we idolize these grown men who do nothing more than play a children's game & they are certainly overpaid for that, the sad reality is that those athletes are paid only a fraction of the millions they bring in... It's a business, simple as that.

If you don’t like the pay then don’t be a fucking cop……

That goes for the not wanting to take a risk as well…..
Agreed, I spent 5 years in the military & never once heard someone complain that we weren't paid enough... Not one time. Every single guy was there because he wanted to be... I'm pretty sure we would've done it for food & housing.

You’d all also call in a 10 digit call for fire and bomb the shit out of a place if it were easier. See, according to some charts from 2002, the infantry is a safe job compared to being a crackhead roofer. According to @BurtG. The thing is, those are civilian jobs reported from the dept of labor census. It doesn’t incorporate federal, or government jobs. Including local government jobs like, firefighters.

You were in for five years because that’s the contract. The fact you got out is testimony that it wasn’t for you. High probability your were some POG. Which if you were, is worst for you’re argument because you had it easier, because POG life.

Or don’t take risk…why does anyone owe you their life 5 days a week? I’m talking within reason. Not shooting a vehicle with a detained dude inside because of an acorn. I get it.

But in example, if a dude reaches in his waistband when there’s an attempt to detain them….you're going to wait to see what’s the good news? Stupid.

Can I get a clarification on the "civilian" thing? To me a cop is a "civilian". Cops can quit anytime they like they are not government issue so to speak and locked in for 4 years or am I missing something?
And while I'm at it are they including general aviation in the pilot fatality stat, because there are a shit ton of flight crews and not that many craters.

I was a cop during the Dorner thing and had friends who were shot by him.

Still doesn't excuse this bullshit shooting of innocents "because omg scared for my life [allegedly]"

Sworn/government employees vs non government employees is the actual distinction, but you’re right.

I wouldn’t die on the hill over that definition, but it’s easier to make the point to someone who served 5 whole years in the military.

^^^ More on the incident that happened in Sept 2022.

This is what happens when you take away all the firearms training time and replace it with 20 hours of "How to handle Homosexual Domestic Violence" training.

And when you lower the standards for DEI...

And when you tolerate poor performance on skills that should be saving lives, not taking them.

Sadly, most police regard their firearms training and proficiency as a chore or something to be 'gotten out of the way.' And the "I'll never need my gun" mentality is deeply ingrained. Plus the 'defund the police' make anything to do with firearms training a low priority... from having enough rounds to fire to build in muscle memory to 'shoot/don't shoot' scenarios and adequate training.

This is what happens.

Can't call the bullet back. So you better be damn good when you fire. Not 'passing a minimum standard' set to be a minimum standard and calling that 'trained.' But only a small percentage of officers take their firearms training and proficiency as seriously as they take classes in "Verbal Judo" and "Helping install car seats" correctly. Deadly force is part of the job. If not absolutely proficient in the ability (responsibility) to use it then should not be in the job.

No excuses for this... No weapon was visible. A deputy was calling to the girl and yelling at the others to stop shooting. Where was the situational awareness? Where was the training and proficiency in HAVING situational awareness in loud, confusing, dangerous situations?

Yup, Charges need to be brought... And sucks for the deputies who killed the girl because they are probably sick about it. But they pulled the trigger(s) Sadly, the really guilty parties are the administrative and political and 'POS" defund-the-police folks who put these deputies on the street unprepared. And do it every day... while taking away one of the most important skills anyone carrying a firearm for a living should have. Absolute proficiency with the tools of deadly force.

The discussion should not be about 'more money' for police. It should be about the best and the brightest and most-talented getting the jobs. And passing incredibly rigorous training and continued proficiency. That costs money. But noone wants to spend it...

Sirhr

PS. Someone above mentioned that deputies thought they were taking rounds from the passenger? Did the girl have powder residue on her hands? Was fleeing armed murder suspect "dad" shooting out the passenger window? Girl seemed pretty willing to bail and run to police to consider her an 'accomplice shooter.' But can't tell from the tapes. Personally (and this is opinion) I doubt she was a shooter. And if she had no weapon in her hand while moving towards deputies... that's a no-shoot situation when talking a 15 year old girl. Maybe not a 240 pound bodybuilder... but a kid with empty hands is not an immediate threat. Again... that's what I get from the tape. I could be wrong.

There's a video on youtube where a suspected robber is found by 2 cops. He's walking on a sidewalk when they tell him to get on the ground blah blah. He initially gets on the ground then gets back up, unzips his jacket (oh yeah), reaches in and pulls a pistol and the one cop mostly mag dumps him ( the other cop not so much) the guy drops dead cop 1 stops shooting backs up a step or two and then fires one more round at the body laying on the ground. He then starts yelling at the unmoving dead body to "STOP MOVING". Seems like some cops when the adrenaline is going lose their shit.
