That's definitely not good. Seems like they couldn't make up their mind if they wanted to do a call out or a breech. And didn't have a plan for either. Could write a book about how they could have opened the door properly, and/or tossed a bang in. And obviously the shooting and tactics after suspect opened fire are bad.
Could have done a surround and call out, a breech and hold/callout, or a breech and bang (among other things). This looked like some sort of hodgepodge of several of them and not in a good way. Could have even done a breech, bang, and then attempted a hold/callout. As a lot of times after a bang that snaps the suspect back to reality of what's about to happen if they keep it up.
Hate doing the armchair quarterback, but with the information relayed from dispatch, a breech, bang, and immediate entry is likely the best way. Likely ends with suspect still alive unless he just starts shooting wildly after the bang.
I'd say that a call out, no bang when door opened, standing in front of the close door, and then spraying the door and walls (suspect seemed to still be shooting, but still) is likely pretty far down on the list......LOL.
