I can't say this comes across as a big surprise for me, but I do feel for the workers that are laid off. I'd have to imagine that they work harder for less pay than most. All in the name of 'progress' right?

Some do, some don’t, just like everywhere else in the world. Nothing’s different than it ever was, just different incentives.

Not surprising at all. When it was announced a year or more ago that CA was skyrocketing the minimum wage, everyone said they couldn't afford it and would end up cutting the workforce, raising prices, or both.

The actual minimum wage is 0, as that's what you get when you're laid off.
If entitlement spending was eliminated, taxes would drop by 66%. What would happen to the economy? It would explode with growth.

A few decades ago, there was a release of "french fry vending machines" and the writing was on the wall back then. Some things only take 'so much' thinking and then the rest is repetition.

Unfortunately, it to the 'unseeing' to be surprised by this.

Not everybody voted for the politicians that are currently in power in California.
My guess is 80% of Dems politicians had tons of 'mail in ballots that got them there.
POS gov should of been recalled but they rigged that to. Hell, Larry Elder won.
If you believe they were all honestly elected, then 81million votes is believable as well.
