Hello, I just purchased a Sig P220 Legion in 10mm that has an optics ready slide. I am very familiar w the SROs I have on 9mm/45acp (HK and Ed Brown). I would be thankful for any/all guidance on your experiences w red dots on 10mm, specifically on the Sig factory cut slide. Very nervous re observations here on Sig optics.

Thank you!

I have a holosun 507c on my P229. Absolutely love it. The ACSS reticle is a game changer, makes finding the aiming chevron instant.

Mine is on a 9mm, so I can’t speak to 10mm recoil effects on the optic, though the holosuns are built pretty tough.

Thank you all for sharing your experience and guidance. The DPP footprint is a huge letdown for me. Sig Romeo-X is a different footprint than DPP. I have always used Trijicon SRO’s and would have loved to use that or an Acro P2. I ordered a Romeo2 mainly for its ability to be convertible to full enclosure and its ability to handle 10mm. I am hoping to take it out this weekend and will report back.

are you sure the romeo-x pro isn't the DPP footprint , the compact is rms-c footprint

they're basically open emitter m18 sights

and 10mm rated

‘xcuse me while I slide in to this thread…been considering having slide milled on my P220 Elite as it’s fun to shoot steel at longer distances. Probably lose rear iron sight doing so but guess that’s another thread.

I see in addition to the Holosun, Trijicon now has a “circle of death” type dot with the RMR-HD. Anyone have experience with this rds on a P220 slide (milled or factory cut)? I like my regular RMR’s and the HD version looks to have a nice feature set but might seem sorta gangly atop a P220 slide too.

Here’s a totally staged pic because, uhm internet.

IMO you should keep that sweet pistol in it's virgin factory spec and get a Legion 10mm pro cut slide for an optic.

Thank you everyone for your guidance. I installed the R2 (no enclosure, had to gently wiggle plate off) and took it to the range today to zero. I love the quick snap of the recoil, not overwhelming. The R2, once adjusted (not an insignificant vertical zero adjustment), was spot on and easy to acquire. Let’s see how this goes, for now I am pleased w Legion/R2 combo.
