It's the one thing they don't get,

I keep the door wide open on politics on here, against my better judgement. Because politics is directly attacking our 2A rights head on, so I want us to be able to vent our frustration, or even better you'd think some of you would leverage the place in a different way, using the forum for political activism in a positive way for our community

But instead it's anti-everything, just straight up hate and discontent. That only works for so long before people get tire of the endless stream of bitching and complaining with no actions towards a solution. We have had plenty of individuals who have created businesses based on this forum. We have seen companies grown out of the efforts put into the membership here. So in my mind it would have made sense.

We do have a ton of LE and .Gov on here, and 90% of the LE and 60% of .Gov are here for the right reasons, the small percent that is not here to learn or develop are here to watch and report on you. We know this, so why would not just skyline yourself but send up flares saying, "look at me". There are better ways to handle this and accomplish so much more.

The "Anti-everything" is what gives the membership a bad reputation. In the past, pre-Scout I used to tell people, 10% of the members here were shit hot, you can take anything they say to the bank. Then after Scout with the new changes, the membership turned to the hardcore guys who stuck with us. At that point I used to say 25% of the forum was Shit Hot, take their word to the Bank. Now, you guys are just about pissing in every bowl of Cheerios you see... and people are noticing.

When I did the market research on the scope mounts, the replies you gave the opinions expressed made the company drop their jaws. They saw the responses and felt it was the best advice you could anywhere, period end of discussion, They were floored at the level of content and the how insightful the opinions were. That its the HIDE I want to see, companies come in, help their customers through positive interactions, even if that is for a negative situation, allow them to address and fix things. But also to use the members as market research, that its most powerful part of the site. You guys can absolutely sway the industry, we have done it before, but if nobody wants to talk to you anymore cause all they see is hate and bullshit, it's done.

I'll dump a whole lot of people to change the tenor of this site...

The constant LE bashing gets old. Many of us involved in LE are gun loving enthusiasts and play heavy in the world of guns and nfa items. The constant crap posting by a few on any thread related to LE (good or bad) gets tiring. Generally it’s the same couple people but those people will bury that thread to the point it gets deleted just chasing around anyone who dares to speak against them. But there’s shit cops out there so it’s not like some don’t have the hate coming.

We all have our fun here. But it seems a few can really turn a legit 1-2 page thread into a 6-8 page waste of time

*snip*

No after everyone moved to make it right, you all started a 6 page dog pile.... really. This is a company, who employs people, in an age where the Gun Industry is under attack. You guys in the cheap seats have no clue what companies are doing to us every single day. The threats, the removals, the increased hoops we have to jump through to be considered "moral" in their eyes. They do a metric ton of evil shit on the backside to us, and here a company thinks it has a safe haven and you all just dog pile on them. Every mistake they acknowledge and the even spelled out how the mistake happened and how they plan to fix it moving forward. Then, nothing but Shit from you guys. Do you think I voluntary wanted to put an age disclaimer on this site, fuck no, they make me to in order to send emails out, without no mail server. In fact I have to mask my actions on much as possible in order to survive, all it takes is some asshole DNC flunky with a hard on to shut you down today. It has almost happened more times than I can count. They will lie and say they got an email with porn or dead animals from the site to close us down.

it's so not cool, I am trying to build this place to be a nice little safe haven and all you do is make the site look bad. You don't think the other companies in the industry look this shit and go, "fuck no" I am not swimming in that pond. Fuck no, we were not supporting that community after what they did to A, B, and now C... you don't think they are talking or working together and say, holy shit did you see what SH did to X, Y, and Z, fuck that place... cause it happens every time you pull this bullshit.

*snip*

Some of you fuckers can ruin a wet dream.

Frank,

I want to thank you for holding on to this small safe haven, we are under constant attack from every direction and even our own community at times.
You are very much appreciated and we will continue to support Snipershide and the community as long as we can keep our doors open.

Sincerely,

Richard Alves aka the fat one haha

Every citizen should have a healthy suspicion of police and government activity/action, especially after we all lived through Ruby Ridge and Waco. But, the sovereign-citizen types, who want to live in our society and use our legal system, while refusing to be bound by the laws and rules they benefit from, the "against the police because the police are the police" types, are dangerous and toxic.

I've encountered sovereign citizen types who in one breath would insist the court has no jurisdiction to hear claims against them, then demanding the court hear their claims against somebody else, or insisting the court is not legitimate and then demanding the court recognize a judgment they awarded to themselves.
Only sovereign citizen I know personally is an old pipe hitting ex mechanic. He told me the standard SC story of being pulled over doing 90mph, showing the cop his special papers and being told to have a nice day.

He supposedly has close contacts with 'CIA spook buddies' that do all kinds of black op missions around the world.

He also said he's reserved a place on Elon Musk's rocket ship and plans to live in some bubble colony on the planet Nebular.

Breaker bar, we used to call it cheater bar. I had a piece of 1 inch EMT and I labeled it "Ron's Torque Magnifier." I lost it.

Made another one and labeled it "Ron's 2nd Torque Magnifier." Lost that one.

Made another one and labeled it "Ron's Torque Magnifier to replace the other ones I lost."

Now, if I could just find that one and take a pic of it....

Over the years, I have spent money on products with vendors and manufacturers that I only learned about here on the Hide. Some were even Commercial Supporters.

Also, I'm always glad to see when people I spend money with are Commercial Supporters.

All things being equal, I'd choose to spend money with a Commercial Supporter.

If there is a listing of Commercial Supporters somewhere, I am missing it.

I would also posit some here could ruin a day dream.

In support of the above assertion, Your Honor, I present Exhibit A: @Dirty D and his egregiously fat women he posts in the Motivational Picture Thread.

I'll not glorify said evidence by posting examples as a cursory perusal would lead any reasonable person to the same conclusion beyond the shadow of a doubt.

Wow, no matter how hard the smack down some people still aren't getting the hint even though it was presented with a sledge hammer.
Unreal.

BTW, the anti LE thing ?
I wouldn't so much say it's toxic so much as an earned trophy.
That is, unless you are legally blind, then it's excusable.

This is pretty ironic. Since a lot of people here like to cry fake news so much.

But then you listen to the news on LE things.

The only reason you think there’s issues with LE is because the media tells you there is. If you actually look at the numbers, the odds are ridiculously small that you’ll ever run into a real issue with LE.

But, like most things here, people pick and choose what they want to believe in the news. When it’s something that supports your bias, it’s good info. When it doesn’t, it’s fake news.

You guys act like people in LE are somehow different than you, the people you work with, and everyone else on the planet.

Once again @Dirty D gets credit for a lot of the hard work others put into the MPT.

One more thing, @clcustom1911 don't act like you don't like it. I know how you grease your hair back, fuppa grease. While on the other hand @LuckyDuck and @LawTalker use gooch grease.

Please leave me out of this discussion. I've been here long enough to know that nothing good comes from acting a fool in these threads. I don't personally know what the scuttlebutt is that necessitated this discussion from Frank but I'm fine keeping it that way and keeping my opinions focused on other threads. Thanks for thinking about me though!?

I am a "Probie" here. Both on this site and shooting in general.
I have learned alot from this site, good and bad.
However, I pay my $20 a month, to buy and sell, sometimes go for many months in between.
There is a boating site, The Hull Truth, same scheet goes on there, the AH's chase away the pros, or people in the biz that bring good advise.
There is always someone that knows more than the people designing and building the stuff.
It's a shame a few ruin if for the rest.

And I’d put that fire out myself
Sorry you can't read this response Dan. I don't know how long your ban is this time so maybe you can read it at some point in the future.

I am not a brown noser. I don't know Frank or anyone at SJA and probably never will so there is nothing to be gained by brown nosing. I do know you, and I know you have good intentions to do the right thing but get carried away with the bloviation.

What I did was spend 30 years of my life putting out this kind of fire. Yes sometimes firing employees and sometimes explaining the hard facts of life to customers. Also, sometimes bringing litigation against people that post defamatory social media. What happens with this piling on and tribal mentality is people get carried away with their comments. Everyone has to outdo the last comment, pretty soon it has nothing to do with the core issue and it's just a circle jerk of fucktards trying to virtue signal to their homies.

One bad product or one bad customer service incident shouldn't define a company. Shit happens, no one is perfect. We should not be judged by a single mistake, we should be judged by how we correct that mistake. If frequent bad products or consistently bad customer service become and issue then the market will correct the issue if the business management won't. Harping on the minutia is a waste of time and money for everyone.

BTW: I am still looking for large rifle magnum primers and a hairdresser that gives good handies.

I believe it was Princeton University that did a lengthy study on the matter of decision-making, ideology, values, beliefs, and concluded that only 12% of people engage in independent research and arrive at their own informed conclusions based on research and analysis, while 88% of people [all across the political spectrum] simply defer to authority figures or make decisions based on emotionalist thinking.

A lot of hardcore rightists are their own flavor of authoritarian and are every bit as virulent as the hardcore leftists, especially when it comes to piling on and canceling people who step out of the herd or break from the pack.

Cancel culture is not merely a Leftist phenomenon, it is alive and raging within Right/conservative circles as well.
Actually, I'm pretty sure it was Harvard's School of Business. Dr. Michael A. Roberto

But what do I know, I don't have a degree. I just listen to the lectures in my spare time...

I guess if you can't get on target with a Savage and you prefer to blame Savage instead of beefing up your command of the fundamentals, that's on you.

I may have made a mix up, you're quite possibly right.

It may have been Harvard that came up with the study about how most people don't form their own views based on their own research.

It was Princeton that determined the USA is an oligarchy and the desires of voters have no influence on US policy.

And here I thought you had at least a masters in Engineering... Just a reminder that pieces of paper and 'smart' are rarely related.

Oh and in addition to Savages... are Harris Bipods still fair game?

PS. Damn... I was going to stay out of this thread. Well there ya go. Those Harris bipods need to be at least mentioned here.

So some folks here can't hit steel at 1000 yards with a Savage sporting a Harris Bipod and somehow it is the fault of the Savage and the bipod?

Legit harris may be based on their squareness but not because of their CS. At least let's do that in @Foul Mikes memory.

Knockoffs of all sorts should be messed with more though. Could you imagine an alibaba Savage rifle?

Friends don't like Friends Shoot Savages ...

This has been an emergency public announcement

So now would be a bad time to tell everybody that I bought a Savage 10FP back when it was in production, liked it so much that I spent hours tracking down a second one after it had gone out of production, managed to find one new, and bought it immediately, so I have two Savage 10FPs, each has a Harris bipod, and scope wise one has a Leupold Mark 4 and the other a Tract Toric. In any event, they are both in Chassis setups with Timney triggers, if that influences anything or anybody.

The first one goes back to my "broke ass student" days where the choice was, "buy a Savage 10FP, a Remington 700, or nothing" and I wasn't about to buy a Remington 700 given the horrific products liability litigation against them and their legion of QC issues.

I'll always enjoy my Savages, even as I prepare to relegate them to secondary status in place of various custom builds that are being finished up and the M40a5 I want to order from GA Precision later this year.

I'll have you know whenever I do "grease" my hair I use extra virgin, non-GMO, organic coconut 🥥 oil (with a dab of adrenochrome) then go for a motorcycle ride without a helmet to get extra sun and make the Ace Ventura wave nice and high.

I'll never be close enough to a fupa as I'm far too superficial to associate with fat people.

Refusing to associate with fat people isn't superficial, it is simply having standards.

I'll associate with fat people in some circumstances, but I seldom take them seriously. The opinions of fat people are less valuable than the opinions of people who keep themselves in basic shape. The same goes for those who are unemployed or chronically under-employed, their opinions of are less value than those who work. The same goes for those who are chronically broke.

I often say, "you can probably be one or two of these, but no more than two and definitely not all of them."

1- Fat
2- Ugly
3- Ignorant
4- Uneducated
5- Unemployed
6- Broke
7- Chronically under-employed
8- Lazy

If you're ugly and uneducated but you work hard and you're never broke because you're working hard, you're probably at least "okay."

If you're more than 2 of the things on that list, basically you suck at life.
