    Ok need some advice….

I have great electronic over ear muffs. Swatcom’s and they are great.

But want some earbuds with Bluetooth for mowing the yard and also range time.

Not wanting to spend $300+ because I already did that for that for the muffs.

Just need something functional and also light rifle use safe for hearing.

Been very happy with my Walker XCEL ears. Multiple speaker modes to use in different circumstances. Battery life has been excellent. Made it nearly all summer mowing and only replaced the batteries once (+fresh batteries at beginning of season, so technically twice).

Price seems to have gone up, or maybe I caught a pair on sale. Pretty sure I paid ~$90 for mine from MidwayUSA.

Why don't you use existing muffs? For me, only one reason jumps to my mind.

I like the Walker Bluetooth plugs enough that I bought two pair, and I wear the Peltor electronic muffs too. Using both really cuts down the gunshot noise but it’s still easy to hear conversation.

Another vote for the Walkers. Initially they had some connection issues but have become much more stable with the latest software update. Being able to dial in ambient noises is fantastic and as others have said, battery life is exceptional. Have no complaints really. The only downside is you can't double up.

Thanks I will look into the walkers. Main hearing protection use will be around the house for yard work.

Grizzly Ears. You can take them to the gym etc, waterproof.
Their new gen 2 just released with full 2 way radio and wireless PPT button. Pretty cool for hunting with the radio

I use standard Walkers for hunting and they really help me in the woods hearing deer/pigs walking sometimes well before I see them. On the bluetooth headsets….if one is listening to a podcast, music, etc. can you still hear those type noises as well?

    What Ape said, Walker 2.0
I was cursing them out for poor app interface when I first got them. Walker did a great job updating their app they have been my go-to for yardwork and rimfire matches.

Where are we at in 2024 with this? I had some peltor tactical sports I really liked before I lost them
Im looking at getting another set but noticed the peltor sport tactical 500's at nearly the same price or cheaper. Are the walker xcel 500's in the same league?

I still really like my Walker XCEL500’s. I have since ordered another pair; the oldest one I keep on the mower to listen to tunes, and the newer just purchased early this year to replace the old on the range. I’ve literally worn the fabric off the headband, and the electronics/BlueTooth keep ticking. Highly recommend for the price. MidwayUSA has had them on sale every few months (why I bought a second pair). I paid $60.

I bought a pair of the peltor sport tac 500’s as a backup for my sordins. I have not used them that much and the blue tooth no longer syncs. I also find the headband portion uncomfortable for me personally.

I just had my Sordins battery box replaced after 10+ years of use. I wish I would have just ponied up and bought another sordin instead of saving some money and buying the peltors

The Axil GS Extreme or the new Axil XCOR are still the best you're going to get on the market, with properly fit earpieces the GS extremes I find are actually better than my over-ears, and much more comfortable to shoot with since I don't have the over ears clunking into the rifle.
