Is this someone holding a gun with a long magazine at 54 seconds?

House Speaker Mike Johnson is moving forward with a legislative package to provide aid to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan. Despite fierce opposition from MAGA Republicans within his caucus, Johnson has decided that the imperative of the US providing this assistance is more important than pleasing all the members of his caucus.
Without this support, international adversaries, including Russia, Iran and China, would read the failure of the US Congress to pass legislation as a sign that MAGA’s America First agenda was triumphant. They might conclude that age of internationalism, entrenched into American politics since World War II, had come to an end.
The problem for Johnson is that his decision to move forward could very well cost him his job. Georgia Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene has been beating the drums to vote Johnson, who is himself also an extreme right-wing Republican, out of office. With the new rules adopted by House Republicans when Rep. Kevin McCarthy of California was elected speaker last year, it only takes one member to trigger a vote to “vacate” the speakership.
When GOP House members adopted this lower threshold in exchange for accepting McCarthy, experts understood that the rule would create extreme instability within the Republican caucus. That proved true in October when McCarthy became the first speaker in American history who was voted out of his position. With the low threshold whoever was speaker would always know that angering just one member could result in their downfall.

Anyone who disagrees with a Dem is always labeled, "Johnson, who is himself also an extreme right-wing"
LOL on calling Johnson, right wing, let alone extreme.
If you love the constitution, you're 'extreme' right wing.

Every single black controlled "community", regardless of where it is in the world, ends up exactly the same. Animals fighting for the most basic of resources while a few are wallowing in money.
Don't worry, we will get there.

Sometimes wonder if the new spending that Speaker Johnson just brought to the floor, there is a private meeting that some type of accounting is discussed that without more exaggerated spending we as a Nation will collapse into a black hole of financial insolvency. I don’t get it this move is out of character for him. What is behind the curtain?

I think this was a move to rein in the MTG, Matt Gaetz wing of the party and render them powerless to remove him the way they did McCarthy. Now they can make all the threats they want, but RINOs and Dems will protect him.
He had to wait until after the primaries so his constituents have no choice but to vote for him.

51% versus 49%. Throughout my life, I have awakened many mornings and had to accept the fact that I was rooted in the 49% camp. Sometimes it was a decision my extended family was forced to make. Other times it was a new Union contract that had been accepted by 51% of the membership. Often after a state election night the members of my community had approved a bond issue or property assessment tax that I had voted against. I closely followed and vocalized my opinions of the actions of the House of Representatives. Honestly I don't know if Johnson fell for the presentations by the CIA and the rest of the 3 letter agencies or he knew if the stonewalling was going to end up with the Senate doing an end run around the House of Representatives. The CIA just gave him a "story" to use when putting the legislation to a vote.

Most of us here are in the 49% camp. As you travel around start taking a close look at the Americans around you. 51% are willing to just go with the flow as America collapses into the black hole.

I was in a Walmart recently and observed a family with kids who needed a bath, a Mom that looked like a street person and a Dad that looked like he never worked a full 8 hour shift. Parents were each on their IPhone, kids were wild Indians...... My thought was "There goes the future of America".

Through out the Bible there are verses explaining ... "... there will be much suffering."

If this was true they wouldn't have to import a new potential voting base.
We've been cheated much longer than most would like to admit.

If I could say one thing is generally true. Dirt bags really do fear the dogs.
I think it’s because dogs use their nose to read pheromones like we read street signs. Sniff? bad=bite! I think their reasoning is pretty linear and they are not often troubled by self doubt in that situation.

A former senior policy adviser to the Obama administration has appeared in court in Britain charged with child sex offences.

Rahamim 'Rami' Shy, 46, who co-ordinated the US government's strategy to combat terrorists from Al Qaeda and the Taliban, is accused of arranging the commission of a child sex offence, court documents reveal.

He is also charged with possession of two category C indecent images of children and possessing a prohibited image of a child.

i never went to one of these...too broke.

Well, if you had put your nose to the grindstone like all of these valedictorians did, you would have been in college on a scholarship, just like them............ ;)

i remember when being a "teacher" meant something good.

Johnson has been playing a weak hand. His message this week, to the Republicans, was get together as a block voting group or this is what you will be getting in the future.
Being in the 49% group gives a member the feeling of "We have won many, many battles"....... The focus should be on the war, not the battles.

There is a very good chance after the elections (State and National) there will be several states with a "Super Majority" Legislature. This could hold true for the US Congress as well. A minority that won't even be winning 49% of the time.

Why is it the Democrats when in Minority still seem to get what they want bit yet when the Republicans are the Majority they seem to lose on every issue. Then the Republicans run on reelection essentially on saying "pick me I am not a Democrat" when in reality they really are Democrats. The majority of Republican leaders truly are RINOs.

Once, long ago, I was asked to volunteer to be a "demonstrator" by my local Sheriff's Department to train their Riot Squad. While it was a "practice day" both sides learned some valuable lessons. The Riot Squad, as a whole, was very quiet. The one big guy, standing 10' behind the front row of Deputies was only shouting "Hold The Line"... And they did. They had a few well padded Deputies designated to break through the line and they were immediately dealt with.

When I witness the actions of the Republicans in Congress.... I can hear those words of that big guy, dressed in black shouting "Hold the Line".
Until they 100% agree for all to "Hold the Line", they may win a few battles but will lose the war.

So hear me out on this- while it's fine to cast stones in this thread and point out all of the troubles we face in modern society, I'm going to try to be a harbinger of change and right here today use this platform to propose real changes for the betterment of our countrymen. Today I propose that we adopt some of these wild spring breakers, bring them inside our houses and rehabilitate them to being functioning members of society. Now I'm not classically trained in counseling or interventions BUT I did spend a number of years residing in GA and possess secret military knowledge of instilling discipline in wayward souls so I believe that makes me qualified to start this movement.

To put my money where my mouth is, I personally pledge to adopt all of the ladies depicted in the picture below taken from the article below as an entire package deal...

Who's with me, let's make spring breakers great again!

i remember a time when being a "teacher" or a "doctor" was an indication you were a good person and considered "respectable".
doesn't mean shit anymore. oh, you're a teacher? so fucking what?

I would say it leans towards the negative. At best I would think you go along with immoral choices to keep your job if you are in either field and have not spoken up. Between the jab, dei, and anti-constitutional views pervading both fields I assume they do not have my best interests at heart until proven otherwise.
