I was wondering if anyone has recently purchased an SMG-45 and if LWRCI has taken care of some of the issues that people have seen them have? Notably the "flier"/accuracy issue they had been having?

    Very Respectfully,

So, I asked LWRCI if they have taken care of the SMG 45 issues. They said that the initial batch had some magazine issues that they fixed and that they had fixed the accuracy issue. They responded quickly to my email, same day. They expect to be back up into production with the SMG 45 with the updates in about a month or so.

Apparently it wasn't all of them that had the accuracy issue. So, it's supposed to be fixed. We'll see, if I can get my hands on a new one when it comes out.

I have an order in for one. I'll post when I get it which might be a while since LWRCI is WAY backordered.

Hell yea. Ive been wanting one of these for awhile. I have a Kriss Vector in 45acp, but having an issue with it currently. It wont reset the trigger. Ive tried suppressed and unsuppressed but same issue.
So I was waiting on the SMG45 to get the bugs worked out.

I purchased an SMG45 from a friend recently. He barely shot it but I finally got a chance to hit the range last weekend. Per post on Reddit, if the S/N started with 4AM than the issues were supposedly resolved. Well my gun starts with 4AM and I can say this is not true. I had (2) approx. 12x18 targets mounted jointly on a single stand. From 25 yards, seated position with bag rest, I would hit two within 1 moa, then a third with no impact. 1 more in MOA and the next round 6" off. Try again and have no impact on targets. The flyer issue is worse than I anticipated.

That's the bad news. I called LWRC and they told me to send it in an provided me a pre-paid shipping label. Once I get it back, I will test and report back if the issue is resolved or improved.

I had heard that they actually hadn't fixed the issue so I backed off of my purchase. If they had, I would have gone all in! Please keep us updated.

It’s coincidental that this Necro post gets brought up today because I literally just got off the phone with LWRCI checking on my SMG 45 and asking if it was affected by what they claimed to be accuracy issues and the guy explained to me that number one yes it was but number two the real reason of the accuracy issues and stuff as people were using too high grain of ammo. They said that the gun was designed to use lighter grain, like 185s for functionality and to be accurate. Mine is unfired so someday I’ll find out

That sounds completely crazy but with the barrel movement it makes some sense.

I got one here, unfired. Same deal Windrider in the safe unfired.
Seems like a line of bs though if it is that picky on ammo.

Too bad they didn't go with a fixed barrel and roller delayed action like the H&K's and JP. Even the direct blowback UMP/USC systems shoot straight with any grain ammunition. I give LWRC credit for trying something new but they should not have released it till it was 95 -100%.

So LWRC got back to me. The claim they could not replicate the issue using their recommended 185gr Golden Saber ammo. I find this hard to believe considering how poor it shot with the 220gr I was using. However, once I get it back I will test with both the 185gr Golden Saber ammo, and other cheaper 185 gr ammo to see if it is really just related to ammo.

Looking forward to seeing the results of your testing.
