Its one of the funnest calibers i have... insane speed 3300-3400 with a 75gr and the recoil of a 223 bolt gun
Barrel length for these speeds? It'd be nice if someone came out with some good high quality brass for these. Likely more an AR cartridge where a lot of people just let the brass fly, but it'd be nice to have an option!
So i converted 6.5 grendel brass to "22arc" and its starline and seems to be working great... whats crazy is its only a 16 inch barrel.. 6.5 grendel and 22arc brass are almost exactly the same...

And i still habe to try the 85 berger and the 90 vld
Looking at building a 22ARC bolt gun. Are you guys pushing those high MV's seeing any issue with bullets deforming or coming apart? I have a 1/7" twist 6mm Creedmoor that is ripping bullets apart if I go above 2950fps. I'm worried that the cartridge is more designed for AR platforms and MVs.
No issues at all.. what barrel is on you 6 cm what bullet you using? My 6 creedmoor is over 3100fps and good to go
It's a custom barrel by a local manufacturer. I wanted to run DTACs so got the 1/7 twist, but couldn't get them so ended up with the 108gr ELDM.
I hear Berger's have a stronger jacket but I haven't tried then.
Use a 219 bore 5 or 6 groove pipe, stay away from 218 bore anything for a 22 build. Especially if you want speed.

I didn't even know you could spec the bore. I'll talk to my barrel maker and see what he says.
Ruger is making the Gen 2 Americans in 22 ARC. Not top shelf, but a cheap way to get into the game.

I’m only running 3150 with 75’s in my 24” .22BR with LVR, but, admittedly, I’m not leaning on them. They just shoot soooooo freakin’ good there.
I NEED a good .223 bolt gun. I MIGHT .223 AI, but the .22 ARC just keeps beckoning.
A so-chambered Howa Mini would seal the deal……

Where did you get a properly sized bolt head?
Guys have been opening up 223 bolt faces for grendel case on the tikkas. I opened up 65cm bolt to magnum dimensions on a Tikka and it's works perfectly.
Exactly a late and some time opened it up and its flawless now
