    Dudes in power of job placement and no personal repercussion (not paying the salary with their own money) are going to hire/position what they want to screw.

    Corporate too, a long time ago I had an office job and they made a big deal about promoting one of us to the head network office

    The guy they promoted was the one dude in the office who had no idea what he was doing, never showed up on time but he was a minority and always wore these fancy suits with a bunch of grease in his hair

    Absolutely, the last I participated in OPFOR at Hohenfels as we were leaving most of the 11M were still scouring the training area for a lost pair of PVS-7's.
    Those poor bastards looked miserable and defeated soaking wet and freezing thier asses off watching everyone else headed for a hot shower, fresh food and clean clothes.

    In basic we got to experience the wrath and fury of a DS almost merc two privates because they thought it'd be fun to sneak into another platoon's patrol base and take their rifles. These two geniuses didn't want to get caught with some extra guns though so they propped them against a tree, in the dark. So the whole company was in formation in the middle of the night and these two had the rest of their Army career to remember which tree.

    We ended up finding the rifles and I just remembering being so thankful those two weren't from our platoon. Those dudes had a long night and day and then some. Still makes me pee a little thinking about that angry senior drill screaming "where are my fucking weapons" in the pitch black.

    One of my coworkers got a degree in business psychology. One of the stupidest things he told me was that they were taught to promote people that couldn't do, into places where they couldn't hurt. Basically middle management paper pusher is designed for the person who can't perform the job but they can't fire.
