Anyone know why these got discontinued? Anyone take up making them? Was at a pretty muddy NRL hunter match and started looking around for something and found these only to find I couldn't easily get one. Looking for other options
I think thee best brass catcher I have seen to date, but sad to say they are dedicated to AR10s and AR15s is the Brass Goat. I have one on a AR10 6.5 and it crazy great you can dump a 10 round mag and not snuff it or jam because of a bounce back and its stream lined so its not interfering with any visuals. I might have to look at what it would take to convert it to my bolt gun because trying to find all the dang brass on some of the stages can be a distraction or not even possible due to time restraints and good brass is painful when lost.
Yea seen a lot of AR brass catcher options but don't shoot them much. Really want one for bolt gun cause as you said good brass is painful when lost. Anyone got a lead on a mpa or other bolt dedicated option I'm all ears
I wish I had bought one when they were available. I have really tossed around the idea of making one for the times we shoot over boulders or anything where losing brass is possible.
Well I couldn’t find one so I made my own. 3D printed the brackets, bent and welded the basket, and sewed (the roughest looking part lol) the bag. It holds 12 rounds no issue, adjustable to get the right placement, and even has ball detent in the “closed” and “open” position
I'm guessing they were discontinued because they were often way more of a pain in the ass than they were worth. Stove pipes, obstructed vision, unforeseen interference with props, etc.
These work great once you tune them and add a locking nylon nut to the system. However, there are occasional issues with them. They are good for training, but for actual matches, it becomes too much of a risk.
