I need a better way to carry my tripod either on the front or side of my backpack. I have seen the OBI Link setup and a guy using the Spider holester for cameras. What other options are out there? Thoughts and ideas welcome.

I use a cole tac tripod sling and it works pretty well, gets me on glass pretty fast. Single unclip and your tripod is free.

Another option is making a piece of webbing male QD buckle and the other a carabiner. You get a QD leg brace for one of your tripod legs and done.

The Obi is a solid option. I've seen it used, and it works well

Obi is way faster to deploy the tripod while on the clock. If you’re humping far stage to stage just strap it on the pack. When you’re ready to start the stage, Obi it to the front.

I'm currently experimenting with a length of 4" plastic pipe. It's a little bulky but the tripod slides in and out easily. I'm going to try strapping one on the side of my pack that doesn't have a scabbard.
