T3x barrel profiles & bolt

I've decided to go the Tikka route, and right now am choosing between the Hunter & the superlite. Given I'll be dropping the barreled action into a McMillan a5 (channeled for a heavy pre-fit) and shooting the factory tikka barrel out until then, is there a reason to go with the hunter over the lite or superlite? They are the same cost at the store I'm looking.

At first I was told the only differences in the T3x line was the stock and fluting of the barrel, but google says the Hunter model has a thicker profile. Can anyone confirm this?

1) is it the same profile as the CTR?
2) does anyone know the profile of the Tac A1 barrel or if that's the same as the CTR?
3) is the bolt handle the only difference in the action between the CTR/Tac a1, and the rest of the T3x lineup?

I’m not familiar with the hunter line. I buy lites, superlights, CTR’s and I have one Tac A1

2) yes. My 20” CTR and 20” TacA1 are both .79” right behind the muzzle threads.
3) no. They use different 10rd metal mags. Thus, the mag retention and bottom metal are different between the lite and a CTR for example. The bottom metal on the CTR is also metal, where the lites have a plastic bottom “metal”. CTR and Tac a1 also come threaded 5/8x24 and also come with a picatinny scope base. The lites are made with a scope base in the action, but it’s not standard and requires special rings or you buy a pic scope base. TacA1 also comes with a two-stage trigger. The CTR, and lites, etc are single stage

Thank you for that. The CTR looks like it comes with a pic rail on top. Is it integrated into the action, or just bolted on?

Bolted on.

What do you want to do with the rifle, what caliber are you wanting, and what price are being quoted for the ones you listed?

A CTR is hard to beat for the money as a starting point with everything it comes with. However, it’s not super lightweight and it’s limited to short action.

I just looked up the hunter. It’s just a wood stock on a lite.
