Ha! I've seen that Chappelle skit but never paid attention to the character name.
Chappelle reminds me of Red Foxx, Flip Wilson and the rest from that time. We may be turning a corner soon where Chappelle can do what Chappelle does without getting shouted down by liberal white women.
Sammy did similar, albeit somewhat milder, schtick as part of the rat pack.
