Does anyone have experience with Staball Match in 223 with 75gr class bullets in a bolt gun? I know there are a ton of recipes with varget but haven’t really found anything for Staball besides a random post here and there.

    25.8-26.5 for 77 TMK 2.465in
    25.5 - 26.3 for Berger 80.5 2.495in
    25.8 77 Scenar - 2.375in
That’s with a match chamber with extra freebore. These are midly hot loads and probably hovering around 58-60K PSI

I settled for 26.3 with the 77TMK and 25.8 with the Berger 80.5 and 25.8 with the scenar 77.
LC and Starline 556 brass and Lapua 223 brass.

    Forgot to mention my speeds

At similar pressure 20in barrel 77gr defiance anTI
    N540 2900-2925 FPS
    Staball match - 2825-2850
    Varget 2800-2825
Solid speed, I loaded up from 24.7-25.9 after seasoning the barrel and was getting solid speed with low sd/es. Then I tested to see what once fired brass would do from 25.6-26.2 and got higher sd/es which I found a little weird.

I’m using 26 grains in LC brass with 75 gr ELD @ 2.495 COAL with Wolf SRM primers.

Barrel is 26 “ PVA Wylde chamber. Getting 2937 fps average; 10.3 S.D. For 10 shots. Same drops out to 1000 yards as 140 gr 6.5 CM.

Someone said this would be around 62k psi using GRT.

I have not been able to get enough powder into a case when using 77gr TMK's but have had some very promising test results with 73gr ELD-M projectiles. My testing was for an AR15 so I think Staball Match might work well for you as you are going to have a bit more room in the case due to loading longer than 2.255 for your bolt gun. When I can't find load data I have had good luck using Varget charge weights.

I want to try the 77 TMK’s since I’ve got the room to play around with since my current loaf is 2.495 and the sierra stuff seems to not care about jump. Plus I could use them for precision gas gun stuff if I wanted to.

With TMK's I got the following results from my preliminary accuracy testing with a 22 inch bolt gun shooting virgin Starline 5.56 brass and CCI #41 primers at 2.250 COAL:
    • 23.5 gr gave me 2578 FPS with an SD of 13 over 10 shots and it produced a 1 MOA group
    • 24 gr gave me 2625 FPS with an SD of 12 over 10 shots and it produced a 0.5 MOA group
There were medium seating stem markings on the 24 gr load projectile so the case was pretty well filled. I ended up not going any further as the 8208 XBR test loads I was also testing gave me equal or better SD numbers and much more speed at the same price for powder.
