Guy you bought it from might not have known it was fake...if it is fake. Do you have any other NF's to compare it too? Never seen a fake NF. But fakes usually visually look good, but as soon as you pick them up and compare them to the real thing it's readily apparent they are not the same build quality. Take the turrets off and look at the zero stops and internals. I guess they could duplicate the real NF stuff, but I'd guess they are not the same.
It feels and looks real which is crazy. Ive owned many and could not tell.. I’m comparing to another right now and i cant notice any differences. Wild.
Please don’t delete this thread. There’s some good information here for people shopping used NF’s. I had no idea there were good fakes until just now.
Just a quick glance at it and I could tell. Two things stick out. One - no nightforce markings in the throw lever (should be at the top of it in a circle). Two - the bottom screw is a Phillips head instead of a Torx screw.
I bet the weight is off as well as the finish. I would get my money back from either the guy from TS or chargeback that purchase.

I don’t have an ATACR 1-8, but I have a NXS 1-8 and a dozen other NF’s of almost every variation.
None of the markings on the bottom of my optics look anything like this.
Is this what the markings on a real ATACR 1-8 look like?
Is there a little screwed in door on the bottom of the ATACR 1-8? NX8 1-8 doesn’t have that.
