If an inappropriate picture was sent to someone Lucas cared about, and Lucas was unhappy with how the company responded, why would he be the one walking away? Seems like if someone needs firing, Lucas would have enough influence to do the terminating himself.

He does stand by his convictions. I remember when they cut ties with Modlite when Modlite tried to tell them what’s what when Lucas didn’t give them a handjob over their new pistol light.

Well considering there's been a temple in Memphis and Nashville since 2000 and one under construction in Knoxville due to be done next year, there's Mormons in Tennessee. 60,000ish in 116 congregations. Not the polygamist type.

The "Quiverfull Movement" just means having a lot of kids and saying it's for God, that's basically all it is. They are not tied into anything bigger like the Mormons or the Amish or anything organized.

I have to wonder if the brothers and the 4th co-owner have been trying to get Lucas to tone down his opinions online. Maybe trying to appeal to a broader base or maybe have Lucas stop being the face of the company because jealous retards are constantly calling him gay or using faggot language like twink to insult him all the time.

Clearly the other owners wanted some kind of change for the company going forward and Lucas didn't like it. Love or hate the man he IS Trex Arms. It would have been nothing without his creativity and content.

I wish him luck. FocusTripp says he will be on their livestream once he can legally explain what's been going on.

Anyone that disagrees with him or has a different opinion he used to trash talk in his comments. People can have whatever opinion they want, I think its his arrogance and narcissistic traits. He's an adult that throws tantrums. I made a comment on a vid a few years back and he replied with something against my mother. lol... I watched the Timcast with him on it, he had to emphasize he created an 8 figure income company..... Hes like the kid you met in grade school that the first thing he said was "my dad can beat up your dad". Its like he was professionally trained to be unlikable. And the masses obviously agree. lol.

I remember a board member at our range talking about the President (who I am good friends with). He said “He can be a bit hot tempered”. I thought for a minute then I said to him “Is that the worst you can say about him. Because if it is, he’s a pretty good guy in my estimation.”

I grew up around tough people with a lot of attitude. I learned to appreciate outspoken genuine folk. You can always figure, if they’re going stab you, they’ll do it in the front, not in the back.

If you look at the comments on both the trex video and his “drama-dump” video, folks seem to be taking his side. Of course that is people who are posting, so it could be a small group of passionate supports skewing perception.

No matter how you come down on this, it appears his wife, who did not exist at founding, nor have any official role, played a PIVOTAL role in all this drama. She “taught him about gaslighting” and they would spent “3 hrs a night talking about trex”. She applied for a job to work for free and they ignored her.

Then some employee just “randomly” sent her dick pics?

The whole thing is just bizarre.

After that video I need a shower……yuck.

Man, that dude is broken… maybe justifiably so, but he’s a wreck. Sad actually.

Hope we don’t read about him doing something stupid down the road; maybe this video is cathartic for him and he moves forward. Also would be interesting to know if his wife took out any large life insurance policies on him recently. If so, I’d suspect she’s the one pulling his strings, and pushing his buttons to get him to do something dumb, and then she gets a big insurance payout. Hell, maybe even in collusion with the dick pic dude.

Hate to be so cynical, but just the way my mind works lately.

Hope I’m wrong, and that he simply moves on and has a wonderful life with her and their (eventual) kids.

So, Lucas didn’t know what 51% meant? And he didn’t know what majority shareholder meant? Yet somehow he was going to keep a successful company? It was doomed to eventual failure if he’s that dumb. I don’t own any of his stuff, but I think my brother owns a holster or two and likes them (I think) and I’ve heard other good stuff about the t-Rex gear but good gear made by people that have no business sense doesn’t make a long term successful company.

Exactly. More common than people realize.

I used to do business with a guy that made retro exhaust for classic motorcycles. We resold a ton of them. They were VERY popular. The owner and I talked quite bit. His concept, product, timing and branding were genius.

At some point things started going south. Then suddenly he was hospitalized for what was purportedly a random act of violence. They damn near killed him. Scuttlebutt was that he owed a biker gang money that he had borrowed for the business. Conversations with employees asserted he spent money wildly. The business shut down soon after.

Last I heard from him he called me from a pay phone in a greyhound bus station. He was traveling virtually penny-less. He did not have to say it, but he was on the run. I never heard anything from or about him after that.

Crazy!

The owner of the tool grinding shop I worked for told me “if you ever own a business, don’t ever have a business partner.”

He almost lost it all to a bad partner in the 90s. It culminated with the owner sleeping in the shop to avoid getting locked out again, and the father of his girlfriend shoving the barrel of a rifle in the partners face and giving him two hours to leave town.

Lucas botkin apparently never got that advice about business partners.

I am absolutely going to give him a break on that one. I have had to deal with PE investments in companies I worked for or owned three times and what it taught me is that they are all despicable liars and that I should assume if it can go wrong it will. I think it is pretty shitty that his own family fucked him over (older brothers and dad).

The lesson I learned was to not have business partners or to have them and make sure that I have majority control. It took me 42 years to figure that out so him learning at this point in his life is plenty of time for him to start over.

If not for partnerships we would be nowhere near where we are as an industrialized species. For every story like these, there are a ton of successful partnerships. A lot of those partnerships include family. There is power in numbers…..

A lot of businesses never would have seen the light of day had not been for pooling ideas, management skills and resources. Then there are businesses that would never had been able to scale without investors/ partners.

The moral of these stories is not that partnerships are bad. It is that one must be very selective about bringing on partners, then realistic about what that means. If you sign away 51% of your company then realize that you just traded away control. That is on you.

Oh and don’t borrow money from gangsters…….

It is also worth noting that there is a lot of family and wife drama in this story.

Quite frankly, the fact that they felt the need to make all this public is really telling on its own. It beyond “transparency”. Each player is trying to control the public narrative and releasing dirt.

Now we’re left to try to figure out, as outsiders, who’s telling the truth and what the real truth is. We’ll probably never really know. There certainly is some masterful manipulation going on here.

This may play itself out and there may well be a détente where cooler heads prevail, they come back together and sign an agreement that works for everyone. Quite frankly based on some of the things I’m seeing, I think that could be the best outcome for all of them.

My brother owns the concrete plant that I manage and operate. It is a working partnership but since he invested the capital and therefore incurred the risk, he also receives the greater reward. I get paid a really good wage and have the power to make decisions, but every major decision is discussed by us both and he makes the final call-again his risk. The former construction company he and I worked for for a lot of years was run by a carpenter and a plumber that were 50/50 business partners. They got along great pretty much all the time, but occasionally one made a decision the other hated or bought a piece of equipment the other thought was dumb. It ended amiably enough with both of them semi retiring and just each doing the small odd jobs that they like, and they are still friends and partners. Many don’t end that way, but end up more like the botkins and others. Then there is the big companies like a multi billion dollar heavy construction company that my dad worked for. They started as two young men driving around looking at houses and knocking doors offering to replace steps and sidewalks for a bargain price. Edit to add that my dad wasn’t a partner. Just a hand on a really big bridge.

Trex arms, tried to be obtuse and downplay things because they were at fault. Lucas called them out. That does not feel the same to me.

Simpletons usually do form hard conclusions and take sides in the absence of all of facts.

I suppose I would be accused of being “obtuse” for not telling you the full details of my morning crap over workplace breakfast. OR I could just be being tasteful and avoiding further legal issues…….

This is a family drama that has no business in the public sphere. That is the ONLY hard conclusion that I have drawn. I don’t see this public family drama as being Christian one bit.

From a purely legal perspective, I’m “betting” that both sides have “unclean hands”.

I hope they work this out.
