For PRS style matches, how much does different headstamps of brass effect accuracy. I'l thinking of running a semi-auto and they tend to shred brass or at least beat i t up fairly regularly (I might run an M1-A--which itself is an inaccurate rifle compared to a bolt or AR platform). I was thinking of just buying some bulk brass, loading and go. Because its PRS, 1 MOA accuracy is fine--its hit or miss and I ain't winning anytime soon. What is the effect of having different brass on your accuracy? Anyone have quantifiable results or studies?

I won’t mix headstamps just because of pressure, especially with a smaller cartridge. 24gr under a 73eldm is perfect in a 16 lake city and puncturing a primer in starfire or IMI or insert whatever here.

Just my .02, the total capacity varies a decent amount brand to brand and it’s much more obvious the smaller the case capacity.

I wouldn’t shoot mixed brass… ever.

This headstamp is accurate but hits here, this headstamp is also accurate but hits over there, the two of them together are not accurate and hit here and there.
This. My particular .308 is extremely forgiving in point of impact changes very little if I switch brass, but there are velocity variances of up to 80-100 fps.
