My current rifle is a REM 700 6.5 creed. It was used when I got it, so I do not know round count. I’ve put about 1000 thru it. Muzzle velocity average is 2569. My son has a Bergara 6.5 creed running around 2750. I have been thinking about doing a barrel change. There are so many choices from length barrel profiles and so on I shoot anywhere from 600 to 1100 yards out to a mile and there’s my problem at a mile that doesn’t quite do it. Anybody have any suggestions?

A 6.5 Creed is not a mile gun. What bullet at 2569 FPS, that is very slow.

I would just throw a 26" Criterion remage barrel on it, they are not too expensive and easy to
install.

You can shoot the Creedmoor to a mile. I have with mine and factory ammo. I run 28” custom barrels though and as you found out Remington factory barrels can suck.

The thing to ask yourself is do you shoot a mile enough to make going to a magnum bolt face and ammo costs worth it. Most don’t so just rebarrel in with a good barrel maybe a better option. You can get a 28” remage from Patriot Valley Arms and put it on at home. @bohem Josh can spin that barrel up easy enough.

Normally 3-1100 yards is what I shoot.. the mile is a once a year match. I think rebarrel is probably the way to go. I was surprised at the muzzle velocity being that much slower than my sons Bergara

Yeah for that no way I would go magnum. Just get a good 28” barrel in contour you like and a 7.5 or 8 twist. Will do what you need.

Couldn't have said it better... 7.5tw is the ticket.

I'd go with a sendero contour barrel, unless you really like heavy rifles.
There are several "remage" barrel makers.
Criterion was already mentioned, shilen, x caliber and preferred barrels all make them.
Simple tools and a go gage.
Keep in mind, depending on how you shoot your rifle (pace) a 6.5 CM is typically about 2500 rounds, some more, some less.
