7mm Mauser loads

Searching for acceptable loads for classic hunting rifle in 7mm Mauser. Rifle built by Dennis Olson in Montana. Nice rifle but not having much luck finding a load it likes. Suggestions?
I have had good luck with 139 grain Hornady interlocks and h4350 slightly downloaded in a sporterized 1895 Mauser. 154 grain SST's with h4350 showed promise in one of my 98 Mausers but haven't finished load development on that one.

Was hoping for something in the 150-170g projectile, but I have some lighter 140’s that I will try. Did you like the performance with the H4350?

Settled in on 45.3g H4350 & 144g SMK’s shooting right at about 1MOA. With a custom rifle from Dennis Olson in MT. Don’t know much about him but the rifle looks nice and seems to shoot good for being a traditional wood stock with low magnification scope on it. Would love to see what it/I could do with it with a higher magnification scope but not my rifle to change so what I can get with a fixed 6 power is what I get

Assuming modern rifle and not a ‘93 or ‘95 Mauser or Rolling Block…

I’ve come to like 175’s at 2,500fps out of my 22” Ruger 1A, though bear in mind Ruger 7mm’s are twisted. 1:8.5”.

Have been running 175 Sierra Game Kings and Hornady 175 RN’s at 2500 with RL-22, H-4832 should work just fine here too.

The data for 6.5 Sta-Ball looks promising for 7mm-08 and .280, so it should work swimmingly in the 7x57. I have some regular pointed 175 Interlocks I’ll be trying with that.

I keep wanting to grab a box of 180ELDM’s just to see wtf, though I’m not sure what I’ll do with them with a Monarch 2-7 duplex…….

Correct, modern. Not sure the year but a very nice firearm. It is very hard to shoot for groups. It has high scope rings in order for the bolt to clear the optic so cheek placement is never great. I am a large human and the rifle is built for a small woman. It is very light weight so getting into it with your shoulder requires finess. It takes much more focus and consistency to shoot a group than any of my other rifles.

I tried the SMK 168’s and had decent consistency on the chronograph but the groups were junk.

Wound up with ES of 16 shooting right around that 2600 mark. I have loaded 40, gonna give her a go.
