The issue is that it was not made by lapua or ADG.
Is the problem that you polished the sides of the pocket until you could see the flash hole in the reflection?

This is it from a different angle - it was the weirdest thing. I had this old case that I just set next to my monitor. I glanced over and was like, WTF? Then I leaned in to look closer and the angle changed.
Sometimes, what you see, ain't what you're seeing. This is related to an upcoming video I've got going on mirage and it's impact on POA/POI.
Trick question or not, it's still Hornady brass. Get yourself some Lapua brass like the cool kids

Yeah - I've been shooting Lapua since it came out for 300 PRC and ADG before that (which is just okay). Also, I was "manufacturing" RWS 300 PRC out of 8x68S when all we had available was Hornady. I still have a fair amount of Hornady brass, but only use it when doing things making dummy seating rounds, etc.
RWS is still the best I've ever used. If 8x68S didn't take a different shell holder I'd still be shooting RWS in my 300 PRC.
I'll use ADG when I can't get Lapua for a cartridge , specifically my 6.5saum.
The only time I've used/had RWS was factory ammo for 300wm ( can't remember how I got couple boxes of it) I found it to be heavier and slightly less case capacity and felt hard like it needed a lot of annealing . I get bad batch or was that normal?
It's definitely thicker brass, but annealing it never caused an issue. I found it to be excessively consistent.
