Does anyone have experience with this in 9mm. There is also the TAC Ultra that has more feedback. Planning on using it for Run and Guns and two gun matches. Thanks.

⬆️ this . The Tac Ultra FS HC is incredible . Laser accurate and the weight sops up recoil like toast on egg yolks . Only problem with mine is my son adopted it . Shoots it better and faster also .
Bought it with intent to send to Hayes Customs . Last I checked they were booked solid .
Actually thinking about getting another . Ahhem . For me 😆 .

I have been noticing that for 9mm in a 1911/2011 platform, a 4.25" barrel and slide length work out better. The lighter slide just seems more responsive and settles down quicker for double taps. Every 5" 9mm 1911/2011 I've ever run feels sluggish in comparison.

This is my second 2011 but would hardly class my first as a performance or comp gun.
Haven't shot enough different models to notice the small tangibles . Things that mean the difference between a good gun and an outstanding gun .
I was considering a Springfield Prodigy but between what I feel at the gun counter trigger and slide wise and an associates recommendation to check out Kimber I'm erring on research.
Thanks for the nugget .

I've recently had the opportunity at a USPSA pistol match to watch two Springfield Prodigys run on my squad. One was a 5" and the other a 4.25". Just by watching each of them run, the 5" one was definitely sluggish on slide speed compared to the 4.25". The 4.25" one was definitely faster on double tap pairs. Keep in mind both these guns have bull barrels, so they do have a little bit more weight out front than a bushing barrel build like the Rock Island ones.
