I have a lightly customized Remington 700 LTR in a Spuhr SICS chassis and I love it. Very comfortable and steady and it feels like really good quality. It’s still a factory Remington barrel so I don’t want to call it a hammer by this forum’s standards, but it’s one of the best shooting rifles I’ve played with. I want to build a custom (or maybe even a couple) rifle on a custom action and am looking at the normal cast of characters - Lone Peak Fuzion, Impact 737, Defiance Deviant Tactical, etc. I haven’t decided for sure what I’m going to use yet, but as of lately I’m kind of on a Deviant kick. Anyhow, I want to use another Spuhr SICS chassis, along with a Trigger Tech Diamond trigger. I want an action cut for AW mags whether I use them or stick with AICS. Since this will be the first rifle I’m assembling, I want to minimize futzing around too much to make things work. So my question is, has anyone used a Defiance Deviant Tactical action with a Trigger Tech Diamond trigger in a SICS chassis? Was it pretty much plug and play or did it require tweaking? Did it work well with AW mags as is (I know the AW cut is an option on the Deviant but I’ll be getting that option if I go that route) or did it require extensive modifications to make it work? Any tips, hints or suggestions from anyone that has used this action/ chassis/ trigger combo? Any reason to flat out abandon this combo and use the Lone Peak Fuzion or Impact 737, other than brand preference? Thanks in advance for your input.
