Hey all,
So I'm going with a Xeno setup for my first centerfire can. I already have DA Xeno FHs on my SBRs. I'm looking for some brakes to put on my bolt guns. I like the DA brake for the lack of a need for timing etc. That being said, it doesn't seem to be that functional as an actual brake. How does the Forward Controls Design compare? The DA wee brake? LMT regulator SP?

Are there any concerns in having to use shims on a suppressor mount?

Total noob here.

@RichS not sure what you ended up going with here but I was recently chasing a good Xeno brake to run on my bolt gun & bought the DA 3Prong FH & LMT 4Port regulator brake to compare. Got them for the same price & have been pretty surprised by that LMT 4 port brake. It's slightly longer but the porting on the LMT 4 port is loads better than the DA 3prong. Talking with LMT they said 4 port didn't need to be timed but they throw in shim kit in the packaging anyways-FYI.
Credit to thread 'lmt xeno brake' thread/OP for putting me on

The 4 port LMT brake looks money! I run the FCD single ports on a 6arc gas gun, a 6.5 creed, and 7mag boltys. It does the trick as a brake for sure. Not sure how it compares to the LMT as far as recoil reduction goes. I use accuwashers as shims for timing brakes to reduce the chance of misalignment and baffle strikes.

I have 3 of their brakes, super pleased. Will have a 4th as soon as my seekins ph3 shows up. I have talked to them about making a 3 port, or slightly shorting the 4 port, to accommodate some of the suppressors that have a shorter distance to the first baffle, I was told there is some prototypes, they have, but wasn't sure if they was going to market or not.

I saw your other thread on the brake touching your first baffle, what a bummer. Do you have any other xeno muzzle devices? Is it noticeably longer than oem? Or was it just the suppressor design with xeno hub adapter causing an issue?
I do not, I had found dimensions for a deadair brake one time, and if I remember correctly, they are a touch shorter. I think lmt brakes are mostly designed to work with their cans. I thought about trying one of the single port brakes, but then again it's not hard to just cut one off, and have more recoil reduction
