Rifle Scopes PLXC 2.5-20×48

Is this thing even worth waiting for anymore?
Optics Planet has it advertised at $1999 (and have been estimating 13-22 days for about 3 months now) and I'm interested, but you can snag a preowned Mk5 3.6-18 or NF NX8 2.5-20 for around 1500 - 1600 bucks.

Any of you industry insiders doing T & E yet? I know it came out at SHOT and i heard they were projecting 3rd quarter, but so far, I haven't heard much and am starting to lose interest for a DMR optic.

Thats like asking why an FDE Nightforce ATACR in 7-35 exists when an FDE Tangent Theta in 7-35 exists.

I have a 2.5-20 NX8, but im open to trying something different to see if there is something I like better about it. (I dont LOVE the 30mm tube or the NX8 turrets)

Same.
It's not that I Dislike either the NX8 or the Mk5, I'm just open to trying something different and this checks a lot of boxes on paper.

Not what I wanted to hear but I understand. It was meant for a second half release but after feedback on the samples at SHOT we made some improvements. Like our Plx 1-8X the goal is not as good, better value etc. but best in class. These will not ship until early next year

Are you at liberty to say if in any way related to reticle options? Will say that it’s very encouraging to see PA proactively respond to consumer/industry feedback, rather than looking at a future downstream upgrade to deal with a known potential issue. I can wait till 2026 for best in class. Appreciate the honest update.

Hopefully @marsh1 one of the improvements for the plxc 2.5-20 will be to make the reticle more visable at 2.5x magnification without needing illumination. If you could see the reticle effectively at low power and high power that would put the plxc 2.5-20 a step ahead of the competition.

I waited 7 months for the release of this scope before buying something different since it never came out. I appreciate a company taking feedback and making improvements but it would be nice if they would let us know when there is going to be a significant delay on a product release.
