This is almost as bad as the binding arbitration clauses. You buy a fridge, and opt to get it delivered. The delivery company removes the appliance from the box, and installs it. Unbeknownst to you, you've agreed to the clause because it was printed in small print on the box, the box that you never saw because the appliance was removed from the box before it even was removed from the delivery truck.

This world gets more irritating by the day. To buy my wifes new car we were required to agree to binding arbitrage, the EULA for facebook, instagram, pretty much every useful website in the country has a binding arbitrage agreement. Rather than not creating a shitty product, they fall back on binding arbitrage where they tip the scales in their favor buy hiring a arbitor that rules in the favor of the client, rather than the complainant, regardless of the facts of the complaint. IIRC LG created a linear compressor for their refridgerators, that are known for being pieces of shit. There's a pile of people that want to start a class action lawsuit, but nope, they're stuck going to an arbitrator who's definately not impartial at all, and pretty much tells 'em too bad.

my new car talks to GM at night in my garage then they send us e mails about the cars health .......don't get me started on purchasing delays over i don't own a cell phone

Just unplug the antennas...

My wife is enjoying asking Alexa to change the radio. I'm enjoying her not trying to run over things trying to run a touch screen.
There's positives there.

However, if you get the lower model trims they come with nothing.

Sims are cheap. Many new cars have a command it sends data from your car to the manufacturer

Some are removable - open the dash and pull out the sim. Others are soldiered to a board. If you phone pairs to the car, they can get all that info too

Speed
Driving habits
Driving routes
Music
And everything on your phone.

For the love of sanity- never hook your phone up to a rental car.

Oops..........In my defense didn't do it the fucking rental car did it automatically. I about shit my self when a call came through on the rental.

My new car is titled ,registered and insured in my name but on-star is under my wife's cellphone ......72 years old and still no cell phone and yes sometimes it makes things difficult . I still get a chuckle thinking about the real estate guy who said " man you are off the grid " he found me the old fashion way of asking my neighbors and knocking on doors .

In regards to the LG…

After swapping a couple hundred of them, LG will cover all parts and labor if it’s in warranty. They at least got that right. And there has been SEVERAL class actions against LG over this, hence why if you call LG when the compressor goes tits up, they’ll issue you a concierge ticket and they cover all parts and warranty.
