What’s your favorite scope mount?

Badger Condition One, Reptilia & Geissele all make excellent modular cantilevered mounts in the $300 plus department.

Unless you have a specific need of a 1.70" or a 1.93" scope mount I prefer the Primary Arms Plx Cantilevered Mount and save nearly $50 ,- $100. over it's better know cousin's. Build quality of the PLx is excellent and very similar to the the big 3 listed above.

Area 419's mount is a bit ahead of all of them, with it's integrated front ring Pic rail, which is great if you need one, but not great if you don't.

I agree, and mention on the video that the PLX mounts are slept on.

Vortex Precision Matched 1.5" (for scopes with 34 mm tubes.) Pricey at 150 a pair but worth the buy once, cry once.

I know others have told me that particular product is actually made by Seekins.

Anyway, no lapping needed, Set the stamped torque setting and forget about it.

Area 419 is my favorite lately for 36mm.

Nice to get a good mount that puts the rmr where it should be

I’ve heard great things about 419 and shot the Guardian with some of their crew—super nice people and good shooters.
I have their hunt rings on my nrl light gun, have the regular rings and one piece mounts on precision bolt guns and just got the cantilever for an AR. Absolutely beautiful machine work and the pins are a nice touch. Used a bunch of high end mounts and rings and these are definitely my favorite

On pic rails: ARC (Mbrace & M10), Burris Signature Zee (for non-contiguous rail actions), Spuhr (mainly for looks on an AI)

On dovetail actions: Sportsmatch, Tier 1, CZ brand

I want to try some Near Manufacturing Alpha mounts, as the rails I have from that guy are amazing. The Hawkins mount is also cool, but I wish they had an option to not have an integrated bubble level.

Those are fancy!

What are the overall thoughts on the badger vs area 419 cantilevers? The area 419 seems to have the edge on paper. I also don’t know how I feel about the additional piece around the scope tube if adding a rail up top on the badger…I’m sure it’d be fine but is still one more thing to be installed concentric and not bind.

I think it comes down to which accessory pieces you like/ want more.

If money is no object, Spuhr is my favorite mount/system. Lots of customization options.

Now for less expensive rifles with cheaper scopes Im not putting a mount that is more expensive than the scope. Vortex, nf, any kind of quality rings are good enough for those rifles.

And then old rifles with weird mounts/old scopes I will machine and adapt a Leupold base for standard rings.
