Hello all! I do a fair bit of BR rimfire, but am interested in getting into 0.177 to participate in some weekly shoots.

I’ve done a lot of reading, but am struggling to narrow down my search. I like Annie’s, but in airgun world, they all seem to be focused on 10m with diopter sights. I definitely need a big scope.

What are people using for this? I’d like to stay at 0.177, and would mainly be doing 50 or 100yd.

I can spend some money on this.

Thanks in advance!

Chuck

I looked at RAW, but the only 0.177 I see is their short barrel Micro Hunter version of the HM1000. What am I missing?

I love the looks and reputation of Thomas. Any recommended “best” dealers to get on the wait list?
Go to airguns....damn autocorrect... USA and contact Martin directly. He will build you a BR RAW that will shoot great.

Air Force does not offer HM1000x rifles in .177, so I had Martin Rutterford at airguns-usa.com build one for me. I use it for 100 yard BR with 13.4 gr Zan slugs. You can get a TM1000 rifle in .177 but it's a single shot. Martin has those too. If you are going to use it purely for BR, then the BM1000 with its BM stock may be the one for you. These shoot lights out!

Generally you don't want to be using .177 pellets at 100Y. Slugs maybe but it takes work, time, and some luck to find the right combo that shoots well enough.
Except for how hugely .177 pellets blow they are reasonably precise at 80Y because we can hit 1/5th scale chicken silhouettes most of the time if it's calm-ish out .

Why, it's the low .032 G1 BC of one of the better .177 pellets, the 13.4 JSB, and how much these blow in the wind even at 50Y. 100Y with .177 is stretching the poor little thing too much.
Can it be done, yes of course, is it recommended, heck no and will end up being more frustrating than enjoyable.
And I like shooting farther out more than most.
25Y/M BR comps, yeah much more appropriate for .177.

I highly suggest at least going to 22 cal, and as much, buying a Thomas slug gun or his HPX. Though there's a 1.2 years backlog.

The better 22 cal pellets have .054 or so G1BC and slugs as high a .21 can be had, though those slugs require a faster twist barrel. .054 BC is a lot more than .032 which makes a big difference in the wind.
