Hey friends
trying to get a sense for what to expect for the 2025 snipers hide cup and what kind of gun to bring? Seems like a heavy ass gamer gun may not be the move

Probably not with the movement used at Rifles Only. It’s not the typical move to prop, drop bag on prop and then drop heavy rifle on prop and shoot. lol Bring something you can grab with one hand and move with.

I'm curious myself on what gear to bring. I know to bring a pistol for a few stages. I'd like to ditch bino/rangefinder anything else not necessary to lighten the load.

Have done the last two brawls so trying to calibrate how different this is going to be. With mag out/move there tends to be quite a few non moving stages

Should be similar but the whole mag out and no movement wasn’t a thing when I shot brawls and cups there. lol We moved a lot.

Probably not, but there were a few in the old days. I expect a lot of rifle slung while moving and shooting pistol. I also expect to see moving chaos, which is a stage the used to run every year, back in the day.

So did I read that this is the last Sniper Hide Cup?

I was an RSO on the Unimog stage 2013 SH cup in Douglas, Wyoming. It was really something.

Make it the best one. End of an era…….

Yes it is the last one. Some of the podcast/videos explains the why and what he might expect from the match. I'm sure it will be fun and idc what place i get or prizes, I just want to shoot lol.

I've been shooting out there over the last year, and did RO for the brawl last year. My advice from what I witnessed the most was people having mag and feeding issues from dropping the magazine between movements. I saw a lot of mags not lock in and feed properly, or fall out, etc. It cost people a lot of time and missed shots from timing out.

Knowing Jacob, he’s gonna make you regret bringing a 25lb rifle. I’m building a sportsman rifle and bringing it to the cup. From what I’ve heard, it’s gonna be a ton of movement and mag removal between positions is probably gonna be a permanent thing. I’m planning on going to his 09/21 club match, could be a teaser of his SH cup finale and I could pick his brain about it.
