Manners Composite Stocks Estimated Lead Times

I am really happy with it overall. But why would Manners make a specific tikka variant (LRH tk), that doesn’t allow the tikka bolt to be removed without first removing the cheek piece? Couldn’t the recess have been made to work with the rifle the stock is designed to fit?
This is just a heads up for potential buyers. It’s becoming more and more of a pain in the ass, as I get the rifle put together.

@tmanners

This isn't unusual for a fair number of stocks - not just Manners. They could shorten the cheek riser, but then you've got... well... a shortened cheek riser.

I don't find this to be an issue at all - the only time it comes up is on my rifles where I can't eject a loaded case due to its length (thus requiring a bolt pull). I ended up putting a shaft collar around one of the posts of all my cheek risers so I can pull the piece off and quickly put it back on at exactly the right height without worrying about the snap clip shooting off.

And I have probably half a dozen 3/16" wrenches in my range tool kit and spread around my range bag...

I transport most of my rifles in a hard case with the bolt pulled, so I’m constantly taking my bolts out. That’s where it’s going to suck most. But also cleaning, etc, etc.
I haven’t picked a case for this new rifle yet. maybe I’ll just use a nice soft case.

I used to use a hard case, but when I go ELR shooting in the hills and my Jeep is loaded up with targets, rifles, bags, ammo, tables, awnings, mats, etc., I found that they just take up too much room.

My go-to are the Voodoo drag bags.

Looking at a Manners T2A-GAP with a 700 short action - standard fill - roughly what contour of barrel suits to have balance a few inches forward of the mag well for PRS style matches?

cheers
You can probably get away with a 26” M24 contour, I’ve had pretty good luck with that combo in my PRS1 with the heavy fill which should be a similar weight to the T2A-GAP
