A friend bought these bullets for some range fun. https://palmettostatearmory.com/aac-5-56-nato-ammo-77-grain-otm-20rds-v2.html
Not ideal ammo for sure, but he uses it and wants to get dope. He has never shot past 100 yards with a 5.56 rifle before, and wanted to do so with this (he bought a lot shipped to our private range).

I was going to create an AB Quantum profile with the location details of where we will be shooting and his rifle with what I expect will be close to his MV. I will true it up with an Athalon before we step past 100. In so doing, I realized this bullet made in conjunction with Hornady is nor listed in the library that I can see.

Does anyone know the actual bullet used in this from the bullet library?

I know I can plug in the listed G1, but I would prefer to find the actual bullet used in these for AAC from Hornady if possible.

Thanks!

Probably the new Hornady 77 Aeromatch. Its such a new bullet you'll have to wait them to fully test it and add it to their bullet library. Its not on JBM Ballistics yet either.

Your only option is to take measurements and input G1 or G7 and actual velocity and just true it at distance. Im sure using 77smk will get you very close.

How we did it for many many years anyway.

PSA on that listing has the G1 at .362 on that listing. We sure this is the same bullet?
I'm not sure of anything. I provided the best information I have. If the AAC 77 gr OTM is indeed made by Hornady then that is the information I was provided. The difference of 0.007 between 0.355 & 0.362 is nothing of any note that a shooter could easily discern.

If it's not the Hornady bullet in use by AAC in the 77gr OTM, I don't know what to tell you, but I doubt the G1 and G7 are as good as the current 77 Gr SMK @ G1 0.372 & G7 0.182.
