Does it matter who machines your barrel?

Hey guys,
I am looking for a Bartlein barrel for my AR-10. Precision quoted me 6 weeks and $1790 with gas block ( setup for my LMT)

Craddock is 10 months out

I found another place Falkor who has them in stock with no wait. They want sub $600

That being said, is it going to make a big difference to spend $1790 with precision or just get the other Bartlein and send it to D. Wilson?

Boy do I miss hawk hill barrels for gasguns.....ready to go.

I'd say send your bartie to someone who is willing to do the work. Worth a call to Drew at WAR. Haven't seen him in a while but he used to spin up killer gasgun barrels. His personal 6.5 creedmoor was absolutely smoking 140s.

I have Craddocks and they shoot spectacularly and I have just received a precision spun Bartlein and it shot really great last weekend ( waiting on a second). I didn’t know D. Wilson chambered barrels. Honestly I would take the precision ( now called Samurai) just because they do a great job and I don’t wait a year. That said D.Wilson does spectacular machine work and I trust them explicitly. Craddock and Precision are about the same cost. Not sure on what the D.Wilson cost plus barrel blank would be. Any of those three would turn out a great barrel.
