Ok, here it goes. I am getting into the 300 NM game. I have some redding bushing dies already that are sized for 308, I have several bushings for that caliber. Is it logical to think that I can use those bushings in the 300 NM bushing die, are they translateable from 30cal die to 30cal die is the question?

    Advice or general knowladge appreciated.

I have a Whidden 300 NM die that uses Redding, RCBS, and of course Whidden bushings. I think most neck bushings are interchangeable, but depends on your die. The neck wall thicknesses for the 300 NM cases (Peterson/Lapua) were thicker than the Peterson 308 Win cases I load. So, needed to buy a bit larger diameter bushings.

Make sure you measure the resulting necks. My Redding bushings seem to all size down more than what they are stamped for so it’s a bit of dealing with it or playing musical chairs finding the right combo.
You should be able to swap in a Wilson as well. The neck bushings that don’t also have the shoulder cut in are pretty interchangeable.

But yeah, 30 cal is 30 cal, the die is what holds it in the right height position.

That is odd, I don't know what to attribute that to.

It's all acidemic till I get my dies and have to re size some brass. I just have a bunch of those bushings for 30 cal so figure one of them would work. I believe you all confirmed that.

Yeah you should have no problems with those bushings. I used the bushings I used in my 6 Creed with my 6 ARC. I used the same ones with my .308 and 300WM also. Bushing doesn’t know what neck it is sizing so you will be fine.

Seat a bullet, measure outside neck, choose neck tension you want to use. If you have that diameter bushing shouldn't be a problem. My 300 NM Lapua brass is slightly thicker than my .308 Lapua brass. I use the same .308 bushings for .308, 300WM and 300NM.....just different sizes.
