New to me SSA M40 rifle

I just received the SSA yesterday. It looks pretty good except the front swivel and the scope mount. The bolt face doesn’t look so bad in person.
The trigger pull feels pretty light. I don’t have a way to measure it. About what ballpark does it gauge to?
This is my first bolt gun in a long time. I just had back surgery Sept 2nd so I have to wait a little while longer before I can shoot it.

Meh, looks like it shot a few reloads with Win LR primers back in 2008 or so....Yeah, it's cosmetic for the most part.

That is what they said over in the M14 forum. The camera makes it look worse than just your eyeballs.

I finally received my Redfield base today. My Redfield (low) rings were new in the box, with original set up paper work. After supper I went out in the shop and it went to getter fairly easy.
The bad part is my wife walked out there and stared at it for a while . She didn’t say a word and just walked back in the house. I was ready to get the “don’t you already have one of those” speech. But she never mentioned it.
Ok so now it should be safe to move it in the house soon.

I got the Redfield mounts finished up last night. I took a few pictures . It looks a whole better now.
