Best all around rear bag

You are a hell of a friend and we appreciate the order! We sent a bunch out today and still have some from the last 2 days to get through. Our supply of magical filler that we blend with the beads is really low I'm hoping there's enough to get through this run before the new batch shows up. It's supposed to be in Monday but who knows if that's accurate with the crazy going on out there. I'll update here if there's a delay.

Maybe another run of the signature series PeeeeeUUU FILL soon?

I bought the ELR and the ELR Mini. I wish I would have gotten both in the ELR, I have not used the mini it is just a tad too small for my liking....

Great thread here. I've been using a weibad fortune cookie for rear support most of the time. I bought a tab rear bag a couple months ago and don't like it at all, it feels like its over filled & very bouncy. Doesn't help me at all. Going to place an order with Precision Underground right now. Thanks!!!

I ordered one of these because of this thread as well.
I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
I compared them to a high end bunny ear bag in a jack stand I built and they held their ground to it but the PU bags are far more versatile as far as conditions.

On uneven ground the Bunny ear/jack stand setup blows.

Everything with bunny ears blows.... bada bing!

But the ELR 3D with the light fill...has been wonderful for me....and the regular ELR bag...but I prefer the 3D with the light fill.

I went to DIY route as well. Box to Bench sells their ultra lightweight fill for shooting bags and they ship fast and free too.

Add that to a bag I made cutting up an old pair of carhartt work pants and stitch in a paracord loop and some webbing and it cost me all of $7 and some time on my wifes sewing machine.

Besides weight, what is the difference in the light vs heavy fill? Do you get the same stability with the lighter option?

To me...the lightweight locks better....it's like the grainuals of the fill are interlocking when you get them to where you need them to be. It's hard to describe. When I first picked it up...I immediately thought I wouldn't like it. From the feel...from the crunchy sound...but then I used it...and it was like...wow..I like that.

Anybody have pictures of the ELR bag with QD in action? I have $80 burning in my pocket to spend on a rear bag right meow.

I've tried the SPEX lite 5524B and it is much too soft for a rear bag IMO. There will be too much "squish" for my liking. I do like the fill for other applications but not for rear or barricade bags.

Well for the price I figured it’s was better than popcorn or air soft bbs. Have had a chance to shoot off it yet. Just finishing getting it stitched up.

Thanks to this thread I bought a precision underground ELR. Sadly before the code was listed but oh well. The bag is a big improvement over the bunny ear bags and pint sized game changer I had been using as a rear rest. Super solid bag and still easy to modulate/fine tune point of impact.

We appreciate you taking the time sir!

We’ve got a stack to go out tomorrow 😅

Ordered an ELR bag Thursday and it’s still showing label created but hasn’t been dropped off at USPS yet. Anxious to test it out and see how it compares to my Red Tac bag.
I almost went with the 3D ELR, but decided the regular ELR would be better for all around use. I’ll post something once I get to test it out.

I use a Crosstac tactical rear squeeze bag. I have both the 6" and 8", but use the 6" the most. It's got a one-way stretch thing going on, and it's got this crunchy fill in it that seems to lock in pretty well. However, I don't have any PU bags, so I don't know how it compares.

The Crosstac doesn't mimic a rabbit/bunny-ear bag, it's not that, uh, flexi? Doesn't make a deep fold. I think I would like a PU bag that would crease like a rabbit/bunny-ear bag.

I do have two PU laced suppressor covers, and they absolutely, totally, completely rock.

I am going to try some PU rear bags, because I'm a goddamn bag-a-effing-holic!

============

And just because nobody's said it yet:

"Yeah, the best rear bag is my bag. Yah, that one."

Well, I was in the market for a rear bag as well. Because of the overwhelming recommendation for Precision Underground, I just ordered their ELR. Thanks for the info.

What precision underground bag would you reccomed for tikka tac chassis and a bergera hmr pro stock. Running atlas on both.

We ran out of filler but more came in Monday. We stayed up all night filling bags and got them all out Tues so it should be on the way!

Depends on your bipod height and shooting angle. Short bipod and level/upward angle will prob need the Mini. The 3d will cover a wide range because you can use all three sides.

XL, Standard, Mini

I've been wanting a mini fortune cookie for an all-around bag. Just haven't pulled the trigger.

I run a MFC 90% of the time as a front bag. But I still always pull out my precision underground ELR bag for a rear bag on any prone stage. It's just too good. I'm curious to try out to the ELR mini if it fits me better.

@Precision Underground Do people with chassis generally run ELR Mini over ELR?

I do.
I run bag riders on all my Chassis rifles though.

Same... with bag rider, or just hitting the bottom of the chassis, I always have to run my ELR on the horizontal and pretty low. So I think the mini would help.

Anyway I can swap a ELR with a Mini @Precision Underground
As long as you haven’t written your name on it or thrown it in the mud or anything. PM me and we’ll set you up.

My cat likes to use my regular ELR bag as a pillow.
Tactical Tabby with a custom sized Marplat pillow.
That bag has the signature stinky fill, he definitely prefers that stinky fill.

You guys cleaned us out if 100lbs of filler with one run of bags. More on the way, I tripled the amount because it drives me nuts to look at orders hanging on the board without materials to ship them out. It should come In later this week and we’ll have all the bags ready to fill and send out. We appreciate everyone and as always please let us know if you get yours in and it needs adjusting. We aim to have zero unhappy customers or bags sitting in a safe not being used because they don’t fit well.

This is why I will be placing an order from you guys soon

That's great, looking forward to getting mine whenever it is ready.

I just placed an order for an ELR bag because of this thread. The positive reviews and examples of great customer service sealed the deal for me. I'm looking forward to putting it through the paces.

I'm really liking my Precision Underground ELR mini. It performs really well on any angle shooting. I just ordered the full size ELR for level prone. For me, I think it will be the right size for that.

I have the mini and regular.
I use the mini the most but the regular comes in handy quite often.
