Tried to locate this to no avail. Have tried to ream the existing seater. Have also tried polishing it with an 88 ELD and rubbing compound. No luck. Does RCBS make a seating stem that will seat 88 eld without pinching the noses on them? Cartridge is 22 Creedmoor. Thank you

Dumb question, but does the Forster seater stem, fit the RCBS die? Or just buy another seating die from Forster?
If you’re going through all this much trouble with a die, just buy a Forster Ultra.

But before you do that, look to 1) your bullet tension, and (2) how much you are compressing your powder.

Either one can cause issues with bullet crimping, regardless of stem.

Just got ahold of them. They said to send in 3 88 ELD bullets, and they would make a custom plug for $34. So guess I'll have to do that to get this one to work. Noticed Hornady has a seating die with the 88 ELD seater option at $44. So that is another option I guess.

Did this work out for you? Same problem here, used diamond cutting paste on a few 88gn ELDMs but the seater stem is still damaging the jacket, not enough contact area I suppose. Running Alpha brass with 3 thou neck tension.

I finally worked it out with RCBS but if doing from scratch, I'd look to Hornady or anyone offering a seating die for the ELD. There was some back and forth and it took a few months with RCBS.

In that case I'll carry on with the diamond pastes. Did also consider using a thin layer of JB weld which would be easier to cut back than the bare steel.
