Here is a ocw test on my 6.5 Creedmoor.
Started at 40.0 in .3 grain increments to 42. The last one is .2.

Using h4340, lapua brass and 140 hybrids.

Which one should I do a seating depth testing on?

The middle target on second pic is factory 130 hybrids.

They are all sub MOA. I'd get some chrono data before picking a charge. Then you can do some seating depth testing.

I always use my magnetospeed working up a load but my ultra 7 came in.

I have the sporter version and a wiser precision mount on a mpa chassis. Can’t get it to work with suppressor

That barrel looks like it will shoot any charge you put in it.

Find your max and back off 1.5% then tune the seating depth to make nice round groups...Done.

I wish I could duplicate the factory Berger 130’s

That was 5 shots and close to the best I’ve shot with my hand loads in this rifle.

If you haven't reached pressure yet, I might keep going. I started getting pressure at 42.8gr with 147's...

My next load will be with 140 hybrids.

also... my load for 147's is 41.8 H4350. Has been very solid over the last 100 or so rounds.

I had 3 out of 5 rounds at 40.9 an 41.2 with ejector marks and one was a little stiff on open but after that everything looked good on pressure. It was odd.

It looks like you have a really good barrel, if you were shooting this test at 100 yards I would personally if it were me move your next test of this type out to 400-500 yards to be able to really see what it is doing.

it’s a Krieger from John at Keystone, m24 and 26 inches.

This was at 100. I’ll try further out this weekend.
Thanks

You have a nice wide node from 40-40.6

Thought I had found my load.

Shot this 5 shot group this saturday but couldn’t duplicate it Sunday after I loaded 50 of them to try out at distance.

The load opened up to about 1/2 moa average at 100 yds.

Back to the drawing board.

I would like better than half if I can.

I don’t shoot prs comps. None near me and with work can’t travel that far. I would love to try one day.

There is a bench rest match twice a month near me and to compete1/2 moa won’t cut it.

We all have good and bad days, I have worked up loads for rifles that would shoot in the .2 and .3's but more often I am in the .5 moa range and I attribute me being the cause not the rifle or ammo.
I went and shot to verify my 147eldm load yesterday with H4350 and shot a five shot group that measured .44" I think it is capable of better but I feel confident that I broke every shot clean and shot to my ability.

👍

I am working on my consistency and it’s probably me more than the load. Just trying to get competitive forthe matches.

Plus I was proud just to shoot that 5 shot group. Usually I pull one.

I know for a fact that I can shoot better groups off of my benchrest and rabbit ear rear bag but didn't build my 6.5 Creedmoor for that purpose.
Do you have a front benchrest to use since you stated you primarily want to compete in that arena?

For benchrest type of shooting you might look into the Sinclair Heavy Varmint windage adjustable front rest.
It's the one I bought years ago, definitely not the most expensive or latest and greatest but a very workable option and will enable you to maintain a higher level of control over the rifle in that setting.
I use mine occasionally for load work ups but primarily shoot the same as you with an Atlas PSR and rear bag so I don't get laxed on form and follow through.

Are you seeing pressure?? My 26" Bartlein 6.5cm load was 42.6gr H4350, Hornady Brass, 210M, 140 Hybrids, 2.197" to Ogive, 2776.

It also LOVED 139 Scenars 42gr

No pressure signs. I only went to 42.0 grains.

I have a Labrador on the way so I can get speeds and make a better judgement on what to do a seating depth test on next.

If that load shot better than half moa one day ,then half moa next ,u just had a bad day or did something different if u reloaded that night . Half moa is pretty good I would try that load again, especially if u shoot of a bipod and bean bag. And if your planning on bench rest shooting that's a a whole different world, they don't even sit behind there guns. Not shooting in my opinion, there just reloaded and tinkers

I’m going to do the ocw test over again this weekend with the lab radar. Also try that load again.

I went up to 43.0gr with 147's before I saw pressure. My load ended up being 41.8 and will shoot about 1/2moa if I do my part

This load was 41.8. It was probably me having a bad day on sunday or I just got really lucky on that group saturday. I'll go back and shoot these again this weekend.

Thanks

If it turns out not to shoot as small as you’d like, just mess with the seating depth. You don’t need to mess with powder to get it to shoot tight.

I was doing a seating depth test with 41.8 when I shot that good group.

I loaded 50 that night and shot that sunday and didn't perform like I wanted. The brass was sized at the same time for both days and same lot powder and bergers so it was probably just me. I'll shoot it again this weekend.

Thanks
