Is there a release date yet on the Burris XTR III illuminated? Price?

For those that have the XTR III, how does it compare to the DMR 2 Pro or XRS II?

I'd put them as very close competitors. Similar resolution, but the XTR III has (much) better turrets and FOV. I do not like CA, and the XTR III has it, as does the XRS II. I think both have narrow eye boxes in the upper mag range, but at mid level (10-15x) they are very decent. Not as generous as a Schmidt or ZCO, which are ridiculously good, but solid compared to other scopes in the same or less price range. Reticle wise, I think the Burris' SCR or SCR 2 is a better competition reticle than the G3 or H59. (.2 mil holds and a less cluttered tree are an advantage to me) I don't think either one is a bad choice. I picked the XTR III for a production class rifle, for me it edges out the XRS II where it counts for competition. And FWIW, I run Schmidts on all of my other rifles, and I don't think the XTR III would put me at much of a disadvantage.

Which scope had better turrets and which had a more forgiving parallax adjustment and depth of field?

Did you have an illuminated XRS? Was there any bleeding in the reticle with the illumination turned on?

Turrets: XTrIII are clearly better
Parallax / Depth of Field: Neither are picky. I don’t know if any scope in this price range or higher that is though. I don’t have the XRS2 anymore so I can’t compare them side by side.

No mine were not illuminated. I’d personally save the money and non illuminated unless you plan on hunting those last 10 minutes of legal shooting time without a thermal / NV. The XRSII illumination increases the G3 reticle thickness as well, and I thought the finer reticle (without illum) was better.

I had both of these scopes out this past weekend and agree these are very close competitors. I felt the turrets and overall fit and finish was better on the XRSii. I also found it to have the more flexible parallax and eye box. But I give the slight edge in glass and FOV to the XTR iii. I can’t comment on illumination as neither of mine were illuminated. Reticle really comedown to preference, I’m a 0.5 mil guy and have ran the G2/G3 for a long time now and like it. I don’t think you can go wrong with either in my opinion...
