Suppressors Warning Crux Suppressors

BidenBoi:
My first can was a TBac can was a 30-P1, direct thread that took a baffle hit from a 6m Barnes varmint Grenade traveling too fast for it's jacket.
The folks at TB repaired my can in about 10 days (door to door) keeping me in season for my 2014 varminting year. I've not forgotten their great CS and have bought 6 more cans since. -Also, zero issues in +10K rounds through their cans since, but if there is one, I'm pretty sure they'll be responsive.

Way to stay on topic, thank you so much.

can anyone who has had a cracked can from crux post what it looked like? I have two crux Saxon 9s that i filled out the paperwork for in March of 2017 and ended up grabbing them December of 2018, haven’t had any issues with them as of yet but I’m curious of what to look for and where exactly to look.

Here’s my Archangel 30. Just looked at my stamp, it’s was approved in Sept 2016. So I would have likely purchased it in 2015.
Probably has less than 500 rounds through it on 22-250 AI, 257 Wby and 6.5-284.

Curious, is there a specific model that has been cracking? Is there a specific timeframe that cracking has been coming from? Specific rounds or pressures?
I got my cans in 2014 and have a 5.56 and ark30 direct thread. Ever since this thread I’ve been leery about using them. Just trying to get more info to determine if all of them are bad, or just batches.

I don’t want one of my kids or a buddy to catch some shrapnel when shooting one. Been using a suppressor cover, but the fear is still there.

Doesn't look like it's model specific. Seems it could happen to any of them.

Aa long as you're using the cover, you should be just fine in containing any errant shrapnel.

As far as being leary of using it, what good is a suppressor if it just sits in your safe? I would argue a can that's never used that's in perfect condition and one that in unusable because it has a big crack in it are exactly the same. So go use your cans and if it happens, well, it is what it is.

Watch where it's engraved or stamped like a hawk.

no doubt. but ill wear it like a badge of honor. i hope i shoot both mine so much that i either prove they wont blow out, or they do. Either way, if they just stay in the safe, they are useless. Might as well eventually retire them as being all used up.

It's a nice excuse to start the process on some cool new cans :D

Yeah I bought these back when I had a lot of disposable income. I’m married with 4 kids now, and new cans isn’t something in my foreseeable future. Lol

I know Cade personally he is a customer of mine. I didn't even know he had bought into this company. I will get in his ear the next time I see him, maybe give an update.
