Because voting laws are a State controlled thing, not the Federal government.
Yet we going to have the feds sort it out!
That's because we have collectively decided that we can't take a shit without the approval of the Federal government.

the way i saw it had to do with what the election laws currently were in the states and how the individual state supreme courts ruled. because, yes, its a curious issue that some states get to count votes until the next Friday
