Rifle Scopes Scopes not made in china?

I've honestly never heard of it, I did follow the link you provided and read all of the information, sounds impressive!

Most however not all optics lenses are made in China. So even if you are buying made somewhere else, you're still buying China made. Want to blame someone? Look no further than possibly your own parents and grandparents. Their voting practices over the years brought us to this. Currently it is what it is.

Maybe if your a poor... I happen to make sure all my glass is sourced from the finest mandalorian craftsman.

That's funny. One of my scopes is a Leupold Mk5 HD 5-25X56 H59, the glass damn sure isn't made here, and it's a $2,500 scope. I'm not poor and I'm affluent enough to to not have to use that excuse.

i was just kidding as denoted by the star wars reference not an attack =)

its my understanding that high end optical lenses are typically sourced from either Germany or Japan... either one of which i am comfortable with.
however i have been eyeballing an MK5 3.6-18 for a while now and that comment concerns me lol. i sent an email over to Leupold asking where the glass for the MK5's are sourced. hopefully i will get a response soon but do you have some solid info saying where they get it from?

I reckon Chinese glass will be very popular next year .

Back when USO would custom make their scopes I bought a USO SR-8c 1-8x27 off here with a custom reticle for the MK 262 Mod 1, 77 gr SMK going 2,750 f/s. It's worked flawlessly for this application, Red Dot @ 50 yard zero in the reticle works great @ 1x with both eyes open, extended range the christmas tree Mil reticle is easy to use. These were made in the US, not sure where the glass came from, I doubt it was sourced from China, more like Japan, or Germany back when they were in Brea, CA.

Is any scope manufacturer really using a USA glass foundry to pour and grind lenses?

I rather thought that the lenses were all made elsewhere...either great out of Japan or Germany or not so great out of other countries.

Solid replies, I wasnt expecting so much input.
I’m going to start looking at german scopes as I’m currently in SE asia, and I have no real desire to buy any precision product made here. Granted, I know there are state of the art manufacturers here, I just have a bad taste in my mouth seeing the rest of various cultures in their day to day. Idk, maybe its just an integrity thing.

anyway, solid input and I’ll start working from here.

There are no flies on the higher end sig scopes. I sell a lot of the tango 4,s. Reasonable price and jap glass. Not sure where assembled but I know it is not China. The 5 and 6 series also are very good but more high end. Compare to a shmidt or kahles? Need better eyes than mine
