Today nice shooting, first 5 rounds for barrel break in, following two 5 rounds groups, distance 100 meters, MTH 350 L, good SD, N570 132 gr, new Peterson brass.

Yes, is a starting point, a friend of mine with same rifle and same bullet got 1020 m/s, same SD
...which makes a big difference on what those ES and SD numbers mean (not that they aren’t still ok, but for only 5 shots they’re “good”, but not “amazing.” ES of 5 and SD of 2 (m/sec) is roughly 16.4 and 6.6 fps respectively. Very respectable numbers, but a 10-15 shot string will likely see those numbers grow some.It is m/s, not FPS...

in this session I did the barrel break in, after the first 5 string I sent downrange 2 5 rounds groups, and if I put on them on sequence the SD doesn’t change so much, we will see in next future how the rifle perform

Thank you .TripleBull.. I am trying to decide between the CT or the 375xc... and am looking at the speed differences between the 2.
this is the first test, probably with the 350 gr will be possible to reach 1025 m/s, I’ll do some more test with the lazer 400 gr and the new Berger bullets
Yesterday, some more speed, each group 5 rounds, distance 100 meters, CE MTH 350 gr, the position was not perfectly stable, bipod deep on the stone and I forgot the bean bag, for rear support the only things available were my son’s book and a blanket of my dog

Thats a phenomenal job and numbers when breaking in a barrel and first round brass through the chamber.

rainy day, Lazer 400 gr time, in the center awesome 5 rounds group, distance 100 meter, next session I’ll try 500 meters, waiting for 2000 meters
