thinking about 1 of these but the many generations are a puzzle. i know there are opinions out there on which is "better" and alleged problems with some. any input or a reliable web site with a rundown on various models?

They all have an unimaginable level of aftermarket support but the gen 3 is the king, that’s the generation that the 80% glocks are based off of. I built a polymer80 subcompact frame into a g27 initially and have since bought a 9mm conversion barrel and some pmags for it. It has eaten several hundred rounds without a hitch and is my carry gun

Ive had a gen 3 and gen 4.

Gen 3 is hard to beat. Wish i still had mine. It was one of those guns that you have fond memories of and wish you never got rid of it.

Every gen 4 glock ive had (26, 27, 35) shot high. Like change the front sight high. IMO, gen 4 triggers are heavier and mushier than gen 3. Ejection patterns on my gen 4s are not as consistent as gen 3 (brass to face).

Id go gen 3, but i wouldn't be afraid to do gen 4 or 5 either. 26 is a solid glock choice.

Edited: What i really mean to say is....Glock 26 is the best Glock, especially in Gen 3 flavor.

I picked up a NIBX (nickle boron) and Stainless barrel, gen3 G26 several years back . it cleans up slick and easy .

Have owned a few Glocks, Never was really a Glock fanboy but you just can not dismiss the 26 .
I carried/have a few different pistols for an everyday carry, But.. I keep coming right back to the G26 for CC daily . It is more than adequate enough as it comes from Factory to bet you life with it for a daily CC .. Just Carry it all stock with No aftermarket mods.

Cant comment vs the 365. I did however carry Glock 22, sig 226 and 229 when in LE.

Usually you like one or the other. Not many people like both equally and have a preference. Mine was the glock

They were lighter, easier to disassemble/clean and seemed to run better. The sigs we had would jam on occasion more so than the glock. The glock was more forgiving for those with poor weapon maintenance

I’ve had the glock 22, 23, 26 and 43. My favorite is still the 26

Currently there are a lot of similar-sized platforms to choose from .

I had a Gen3 several years ago and put a lot of rounds through it and carried it every day. I never had one malfunction. I sold it to fund my Springfield XD. I actually just bought another Gen3 because I want something a little smaller for EDC.

Mine's a Gen2.5 that I've had for almost 20 years. I own nicer pistols, but it's the one that goes with me into the wild. It serves as a lightweight carry, and there are extra G17 mags in pack or vehicle. Same with summertime carry.

If you get one you'll quickly figure out that it serves a lot of different purposes.

I have both a gen 3 and a gen 4. I absolutely love both, and if done right a RDS fits nicely on top.

How do you like the Holosun? I've had several people lately suggest I go that route over other RMR optics.

I'm thinking of doing a Polymer80 frame. It looks pretty straight forward. What kind of holster options are there?

I have a gen 4, works great. Changed out the sights for some night sights, added talon grips, and changed a couple trigger parts so it pulls very crisp. At minimum, get a glock 17 trigger bar. The g26 has a serrated trigger, feels horrible to my finger. Gen 3 and gen 4 parts are mostly interchangeable for the trigger.

I don’t have a holosun but I do carry a P80 everywhere. It’s very straightforward and holsters are zero problem. I have an Alien Gear cloak tuck 3.0(maybe, I’m not exactly sure) and also a mini holster from Glockstore that basically only covers the trigger in kydex and has a clip screwed to it.

I love the holosun so far. I have had RMRs, leopold's and other red dots and the holosuns are my new favorite.

I run a Gen 4 but have been looking for a Gen 4 19 to see how it fit me. Covid has made this impossible so I went another route last week.

When I bought the 26, I also shot a 43 and that was definitely a no go. 2 days after I got the 920 I found a 43x and 48. They came in yesterday so I have a bunch of comparing to do.

As for the Holosun's I run 407C, 407K and 507C. They have all been solid.

I've had a gen 3 G26 for 10+ years. It runs and tracks like my G34 that I shoot in IDPA. I've shot a few G43/48s and while they have their purposes, they don't run as flat as my G26. In the hot months, I will run my G26 in an IDPA match up against the full size gun divisions. The G26 doesn't give up much at all to the larger pistols other than sight radius and a little bit slower reload on the clock.

I run the GeePlate magazine floor plates on all my G26 magazines. They don't add any length to the grip, but they have a protrusion that extends from the front of the plate that hooks under your ring finger for added control. I don't feel handicapped at all by having my pinky floating unsupported under the grip with these floor plates. 2 Glock 26/27/33/39 GeePlates with finger rest – GeePlate
