Bell and Carlson

I have two of the b&c competition/target stocks and I'm quite satisfied with them. The fit and finish isn't up to par with the more expensive stocks but they are a solid platform. I bedded the bottom metal on the one stock since the inlet was off a little around the rear action screw. Sorry I can't help you with the grayboe I don't have any experience with them.

Any thoughts on B&C stocks? I'm looking at one compared to Grayboe and the B&C has a full bedding block whereas Grayboe only has pillars.
I have had my BC Medalist since 2010-2011ish
Been pretty happy. Finish isn't the most durable but I wasn't expecting it to be at its price point.

At the time Grayboe didn't exist so I have no real comparison between the two.

If the director of recreation gives me the go ahead I'll be replacing my B&C with a KRG Bravo. The 10/22 may also be getting a Krg Bravo.

What is your intended use for the rifle?

I have 1 B&C stock and have no complaints. As noted above, I did bed the action since the finish on the bedding block wasn't great. I would recommend doing so if you go that route to stop any potential headaches before they start.

Greyboe makes nice stocks too. Maybe a touch heavier depending on the model (if memory serves).

If you are looking for a lighter/more hunting oriented setup, I'd also look at AG composites.

I have the B&C Medalist on a number of my rifles. Standard stock I've used on Weatherby, Savage and Remington hunting rifles. I have a Cooper that I believe comes with the B&C stock. Never had any issues and good price point.

Not hunting. Practical field shooting, bipod/bench, prone, etc

I'm surprised B&C needs bedded with a full Aluminum action block... They only list 2 types with dbm inlet - M40 and Tactical/Competition. They may have renamed the Medalist or discontinued it.

Grayboe definitely needs bedded with only pillars.

I had my 308 in a KRG BRAVO and when I took it out it seemed to have a lot of rubbing on the rear tang. That tells me the receiver didn't have a good marriage to the stock. That damned captured action screw sucks and I didn't like the misalignment between the back half and the front half.

I have noticed the same rubbing in my bravo. I skim bedded it last week. Should have shooting results tomorrow.
