Vudoo Gun Works V-22 Rimfire Bolt Action

I use a 16 twist in mine. I don’t plan on shooting any of the new solids requiring the 9 twist.

If by solids you mean 40gr lead solids and the new 32gr copper solids, yes.

Then 1/16. That’s the standard twist for rimfire. The fast twist barrels are for the heavier copper solids that are being testing and developed for rimfire ELR.

Curious where this information is coming from...

Taken straight from Cutting Edge's website:
"These are a solid copper, CNC turned projectile for use in standard twist rate rifles (1:16" or faster)."

"Q: Do you offer any heavier weights?
A: Currently, we do not have any heavier weights available. We are in the process of developing a heavier weight for faster twist rifles (1:9” or faster) and it will be released in the coming months."

... also, just saw this on their website!

Yup you edited after my post above so I figure I would edit too. I have no desire to shoot ant of those bullets no matter the twist. One of the huge pluses to shooting .22 is I don't have to hand load and I am sure as hell not loading .22 ammo. Waste of time and money for me especially those little 32grn bullets with the .105-.111 BC.

I get it, it's not for everyone... for me its about the "hobby aspect"... I love to tinker with things! It's kind of like the rest of my hobbies... motorsports > tinker or drive? Knives > sharpening or slice'n and dice'n. Firearms > shoot or tinker?

Barreled action arrived. The trigger is trapped in the mailbox as our key is no longer working. Having issues with the key for awhile and finally went to the USPS yesterday to get a new lock installed for $40. Because our new neighbors thought our box was theirs and mangled the lock when they moved in. So, hopefully I can get the trigger from the USPS tomorrow as they will 1. hold our mail until new lock and keys given. 2. Will allow mail pickup until they start delivering again.

While I don't personally sweat balance too much, for those that are playing with it, this is a 20" Kukri in a MPA Ultra Lite Chassis that as pictured (Athlon Cronus, ARC, bipod, magazine...) weighs 12.4 pounds. It balances a little over 1 inch in front of the magwell. I get the advantages of weight for centerfire, but not really convinced for rimfire. Just FYI...

Finally.

Balances right at the RRS logo on the Anvil 30. Edit: 16 lbs as shown. Gained exactly two lbs. over the 18" Kukri.

@Krob95 and I were able to get out and shoot indoors as it's literally single digit temps the last few and next few days.

25 yards. 10 rounds. This was about 100 round into break-in. I think it's gonna be a keeper. 🤠

And 50 yards. 10 rounds.

Why do a lot of people just report 25 yard groups?
Wouldn't be better to report 50 yard groups?
I guess it is all about the distance you normally shoot.

Just had my first Vudoo part show up!!! 10 round magazine from Mile High Shooting. It’s 17* in West KY this morning and back yard was full of blackbirds. Grabbed the B14R and Vudoo mag with a flawless cycle to shoot at some. Miss read the wind and shot just beside it. Went ahead and ran the KYL Rack at 50 for a few shots. .3-.5 mil wind hold at 50 is rough!!! April 25 th can’t get here soon enough.

I have 25 and 50 yards in the pics but we shot out to 100. Those groups were just ok yesterday. We're thinking the range exhaust is effecting the bullet. It's quite windy down at 100. enough to move the targets which are on sturdy racks. I've noticed this a lot at my range lately.

As his witness, it shot pretty good at 100yds. A lot better than mine it seems.

Did some additional ammo testing on mine today. 6 different types in some pretty nasty weather.

20” MTU
Manners TCS
Diamond 2 stage
Vortex Strike Eagle 5-25 in a Spuhr
Atlas Bipod and rear bag

After this session the rifle now has 350 rds on it.

31 degrees
70% humidity
29.65 station pressure
4-5 mph winds from the rear

It will shoot pretty much anything at 50yd and less but this is why I like seeing 100 yd groups. The wolf is old stock from when Lapua made it. It normally shoots much better but today velocity seemed to be very inconsistent in cold temps.

I'm 100% with you on this... 50y is OK and all -- but I'm after the 100y and beyond. I wonder how much more your groups will tighten up as you continue putting rounds down the pipe... looking forward to your progress man! Looking good so far!

Thanks! Yes I am too. I put 120 rds on it when I first got it to find what it liked and a get a quick dope, then had a match with 110 rds. Those first 100 rds had scary groups, like 8-10” at 100. So seeing this today made me happy and I’m sure it will only improve.

In least we forget 22 lr is designed for peak accuracy at 50 yds - 50 meters Sammi spec’s. We have to accept what we can get further out 100 yds. and beyond so don’t get to upset with those distint groups.

Are there any places other than the vudoo site to get aluminum 12/15 round mags?

Call them. They have some inventory not listed and/ or showing out of stock. I bought my first Vudoo from them when the website showed out of stock.
This. I stopped even bothering to check their site for stock on anything... I just call or stop by and poke around... I don't know where they get their ammo from... but they do... among many other things.

Same with me... my current “date scheduled” is March 4th.

I emailed to check on how close the dates have been running to actual shipping and they said that my specific order might get held up a bit due to having the spiral fluting done as well as the bedding of the action...

I’ll post up here when I take the transfer from my FFL. 🤘🏻🙂

Mine original date was Jan 11th, I got it Feb 6. I think the move pushed them back some.

It's worth adding ( I hope) that each rifle setup is at least a bit different. With supply chain challenges yet to be solved, your build arriving on time or not could be the result of the absence of a single part (stock, trigger...). We've all read of stock/chassis deliveries falling behind leading to the delayed shipping of a number of rifles. There is no uniform pacing of actual shipping dates to estimated shipping dates.

I'm in the beginning stages of the Vudoo rifle, Apparition. Looking at the MTU contour, is there a "sweet spot" in regards to barrel length? Just for information, Most of it's shooting will be at 50-100, occasional trip to 200 or 300. I don't do any formal competition, just bench shooting for fun. It's not a "trainer" etc, again, just a fun gun.
Looking at the Vortex Golden Eagle scope for it, what scope base should I go with?

I understand I will have to talk with them, but to get into it and potentially upgrade later to a better chassis if needed, I plan to go with the KRG Bravo initially. Didn't see it on the drop down.

Oh, what's the typical lead time?

Appreciate it!

Sweet! JD, In lieu of the Arca on the Atlas, can a short 1913 rail be mounted?
Finally.

If you just wanting a KRG Bravo order the Ravage. Apparition is built in a chassis to begin with. Ravage will drop into a chassis at a later date no matter what.
From what I gather on the MTU 20” is the sweet spot for balance on barricades. If you are just going to bench shoot I would say 20” would be fine in either Kukri or MTU.
Wait time when my Ravage was ordered in Jan was 16 weeks. I have 8 weeks to go as of today.
I would also look at 30moa base for a minimum. You might want to stretch its legs one day.

Hope my little bit of info helps.

Is the Ravage the same action, barrel, etc? Unless I'm missing something, the Apparition/Bravo is less ?

Looks like I need to do a deposit soon.
Barrel, MTU 20"?
TT Diamond, SS
Bravo
Scope base, ____ MOA?

Any functioning difference in aluminum vs. plastic mags?

It will come with the plastic style mags. They seem like a fiberglass composite of some sort. I have one at the house I'm running in my Bergara. I ordered 3 spare with the rifle. I will have a total of 5 now. I don't have a reason to buy the metal ones.

If you're shooting out to 300, go 30moa, you'll still have a good 50yd zero and @2/3rds of your elevation travel. I have a 20moa and have a little over half of my internal travel with a 50yd zero.
Plastic mags are solid. I have a 15rd alum on backorder, but the plastic mags haven't failed me in years now... Well into 5k rounds spread through 7 mags.
You're gonna love your Vudoo.
