You all have it completely wrong, ... EDIT: Some times I am a DA and after some reflection, I made a very lame attempt at humor, took this one too far .. I apologize to all my AI brothers out there.
I fail to understand why you would edited this out. I’m glad I quoted the original because I got an absolute kick out of it 😂😂😂😂

Well it was time for the yearly AI AXMC rifle colour change.
I thought something different, 5 colour Digital camo.

I did not think it would take 36 hours!

Full strip down, degrease, blast and then the layers of Cerakote H Series.

Over 1600, yes 1600 individual stencils applied, that alone took 3 hours.

2 hours to take them all off, then the reassemble.

The rifle, 3 barrels, 2 Moderators, Scope, Spur mount, Arca rails, 4 magazines and other bits.

Glad I only get bored once a year!

No did not debond, we have done a few now and experimented with one ages ago, 100 degrees C and it did not melt the epoxy.

What's your normal temp then for doing the action with H cerakote I'm seriously considering having mine recoated but it hammers and dont want to debond her.

What temp did you run the plastics?

I do the AI actions at 95 degrees Celsius, Plastics at 70 degrees C, Scopes at 60 degrees C, Normal Metal at 120 degrees C.
We use Celsius in the UK.

Thanks homie! And yes I am aware of the UK's continued use of the metric system
just a little reminder for everyone...

🤣
It'a a complete "Cluster F" here for measurements, we use Litres for fuel and drinks, Miles for distance and speed, Stones or Kilo for weight. Celsius for temp but inches for rain fall...and it goes on!

they need to commit to using the units of measure that got man to the moon and to Mars instead of the halfassery currently going on 😂

The Devcon aluminum putty max working range is 250F. That is the temperature which I put my rifle in the oven and can peel the action from the chassis since the putty gets soft. So if your applicator uses the typical 250F or 300F curing temp, I would be concerned that the epoxy could lose it's properties.

Oh for sure. Just curious if we did it at 150F if it would still hold firm enough but allow the cerakote to fully set up and cute

I found a "used" SFP AI AXMC .308 complete bolt assembly (in dark earth no less) at EO at a killer price and with mil discount. It arrived today and it's never seen a round. Sometimes you just luck into something. :)

Now I can ditch that adapter thing, thing, thing and the LFP 308 body!

In DE? That's like a unicorn. Did they say if they have any more? Would love to get one.

Amazing!!!

Humble addition.
AI AE MKII in its natural habitat.
Ran an interesting drill. 200 yard run followed by a 1st round hit on a 2inch x 2 inch square. Time was 3 mins.
We got it in 1.5min.
Changes for next time will be must carry the rifle on the run part. And maybe add a barricade. We were shooting prone today
