Tikka T3 Thread

I have Barnard triggers in my Tikka's. Selectable two/single stage, fully adjustable, trigger shoe moves front/back.

Grayboe is stated the Phoenix stock will be coming soon in long and short action, factory bdm as well as aics dbm very soon. That will be a great option for this action as well.
Super excited to hear this. Just what I was hoping for my future CTR.

Just looked on their website and it appears these are orderable now. Shows Tikka options in the drop down and options for dbm. Curious to see how these turn out as there's a comment regarding dbm fitment.

Well fellas, I just joined the club... was listed as a t3x only, Not as a ctr. Been looking for a little bit now. Glad I finally pulled the trigger.

Congrats! Looks like a jrtxb382. Mine is the same just mirrored.

I’m 99% positive it’s a CTR. Based on the stock and it’s a threaded barrel, regular t3x lites don’t come threaded, or have the raised stock.

also, the bolt handle, scope base, mag, bottom metal, mag release, grip... It's 100% a ctr. what'd you give for it?

Think I’ve dialed in my load for the varmint. First finished load development for me and I hope they all go this easy haha. Started with an OCW test to dial in a cpl charge weights than went to seating depth. Went back and checked two best charge weights with everything else constant. I dunno if was me or load on the final group but it woulda coulda been my best to date lol.

i gotta get off my ass and send him my varmint profile 223 20" for the creedmoor magic

Anyone know where I can find a T3x TAC A1 Left handed in 308 or 6.5 20 or 24" anyone? anywhere? I have looked for a couple days now and if I could just find one I would pull the trigger, per say! Thanks for anyone's help in advance. Please point me in the right direction.

Just saw a bunch of tacs on gunbroker this morning but not sure if any were lh.

Any of you guys that have a tac a1. I know the action screws are 62 ft lbs but what about that barrel nut or the hand guard. Anyone know if there is a spec for them?

Not sure if this is the place to ask but hear goes. Throwing a m24 profile bartlein on my T3. Is it worth the time facing the action to get rid of the radius or just turn down the barrel? Also, if I do remove the radius, should I go ahead and put in Remington style recoil lug at the same time?

Thanks guys.

M24 Shank=1.120
Action face= 1.15ish
Action width= 1.120
Action treads ID= .949

By turning down the Action I believe I could get a better mating surface... but is it worth it?

If you do you can never get a shouldered prefit for it and all subsequent barrels will have to be fully custom.

anybody try the mdt poly magazines in ctr bottom metal?

cdi inletted the action for poly mags so won't hurt my feelings if 40$ mags work

What mags currently work in your bottom metal?

Should be either ctr/trg mag, AICS type, or factory lite style ~3 round capacity.

Are you asking if MDT polymer AICS type mags fit into ctr bottom metal that currently fits ctr/trg mags? Answer will be no.

If your bottom metal currently fits AICS type magazines, then yes they should AFAIK.

If fits AICS and you want to try magpul aics, then no without modification of feedlip area that weakens the mags. Basically boils down to no but has been made to work previously.

If lite style, no.

Can you elaborate? I have a Howa I am considering going the Howage (barrel nut) route with.
We ordered a 6 creed barreled action from Brownell and it showed up not being able to hold under 2 inches at 100. After talking with both Brownell and legacy sports due to a extremely long thought... 105 hybrids where .379 off lands lol. Decided to true the action and try a prefit. The prefit will shoot 105, 108 and 112 grain projectiles under 3/8 up until about 2800fps then the bullet will decentigrate. I'm chucking the gun up to a loss. Money waisted, time waisted, ego broken. That's why the tikka is being built.

My first Tikka, chambered in 6.5 Creed by Radix Precision in Omaha. Barrel is a Broughton 5.5 profile that I picked up off the PX here and cut to 20". Sig Tango 4 and B&C M40.

I plan to do a DIY sponge camo paint job on the stock and then it'll be done

I bought a 20" .308 off Brownells for 275$
Shoots FGMM 168 great but have had trouble with ELDs at the short legacy sports mag length. Going to try some Noslers and Sierreas with a less intense ogive. Hoping I wont need to rebarrel.

Eurooptic has them. Not sure if they are in stock right now. Since they're from Australia, availability is a little shaky.

I have a tikka 223 varmint in a bravo and they offer aics with it.
Mdt 223 aics mags works great
Has anybody run the 223 krg mags in a krg chassis? Do they feed well? It seems like the consensus is MDT polymer 223 mags feed well. I’m curious about the keg branded mag. Is it an accurate mag?

I was correct the KRG mags are basically accurate mags branded for KRG. Does anybody run those with a 223? How does it feed? What is the preferred 223 mag for a bravo?

Im guessing if krg sells krg branded 223 mags they should work fine in a KRG chassis.

my go to action has been milled

when i swapped over actions none of my poly mags would latch.

Can a t3x use a sako 85 bolt shroud? I know the 85 shrouds can be used on the A7 and the t3x copies a lot of the a7 features (safties, firing pins ect).

It would really surprise me, as the 85 and A7 are three lug designs, whereas the Tikka is a two-lug design.

I have 2 mdt 223 mags, because they are cheaper than krg... I have had 0 issues. They feed great

i wonder if there is some variance

my stainless superlite, will not seat the mdt or aics mag 223 poly mags when i put it in the bravo.

my 6.5 barrelled action won't seat either mdt or aics mags, superlite will seat mdt, but not the aics poly.

hit mdt outside of feedlips with a file... not too many strokes and it'll lock now in the 6.5

moot point because my 223 action has been milled.

mdt mags in ctr bottom took just a wee bit of work.. just knocked down a bit on the front of the mag.. nice and tight. made it so it takes some effort to strip the mag out.

but it's good as gold. pretty stoked

aics mags fit with no work but a bit more side to side play then i like. no feeding issues.
